Our character's begin the campaign lost and stranded in a war torn Poland during the year 2000. Join us each week to hear how they keep body and soul intact as they search for a way home. The balloon has gone up and the clocks have stopped, but time marches on... Rogues of Vättern Dork Day Afternoon heads to Sweden where we'll be taking a "deep dive" into "Hostile Waters", Free League's rules and setting supplement, and to see how 2nd Marine Division has faired in the post apocalyptic world of Twilight: 2000.  Join us as we follow a small group of intrepid Leathernecks from small crafts platoon to see how they navigate the fjords of Sweden and the turbulent waters of the new political landscape. Will they complete their mission? Can they make it back home? Will they improvise, adapt and overcome or will they be doomed to the icy deep? Oorah! Encore of the Lost DDA's play through of the Extinction Curse adventure path written for the Pathfinder Second Edition game system, published by Paizo, Inc. Join us as we gracefully stumble through circus crowds and the Pathfinder Second Edition rules. Tabletop Time is a YouTube channel, podcast, and livestreaming phenomenon devoted to collaborative storytelling through tabletop roleplaying games, as well as miniatures and other somewhat "nerdy" hobbies. It was created by Jazza and his brother Shad to utilize the TTRPG system they invented, Cogent Roleplay. Ludonarrative Dissidents

Ludonarrative Dissidents

TTRPG
English
"Ludonarrative dissonance" is a term from game-design commentary, describing a moment when the game mechanics pull in one direction but the game story pulls in another, creating dissonance. The ‘Ludonarrative Dissidents’ are three game designers, reviewers and commentators, veterans in the field of ludic narrative, who have come together to discuss the art, science and craft of RPG design by vivisecting game systems and seeing what makes them run.  Your hosts are Ross Payton, Greg Stolze and James Wallis. Ethos Every episode of Ludonarrative Dissidents is built around four pillars: What does this game do? How does it do that? How do people play it? Why do they play it that way? (and how well does it succeed?) We examine games from all angles: mechanical, ludic, narrativist, historical, cultural, structural, whether or not it’s fun, and Greg complains about its use of the future-conditional tense. We look at its influences and pedigree, its narrative engine, its world-building, its book-design, and James reveals that he dated the designer’s sister, or something like that. In season 2 we have added episodes that look at specific aspects of RPGs, such as initiative systems, metacurrencies and diceless games. Origins The idea behind Ludonarrative Dissidents came from a Twitter discussion in early 2021. Someone was looking for RPG designers to work on a project, someone else suggested Greg and James, and after the two of them politely declined, a third person opined that a podcast with the two talking about games and game design would be quite a thing. Greg and James exchanged a virtual glance across the Atlantic, Greg mentioned the idea to Ross, the three of them filled a Google document with ideas, and the project was born. The World of RPGs

TTRPG
English
This podcast is about tabletop role-playing games around the world. In every episode, I interview RPG enthusiasts and professionals from a non-English speaking country about what games they play, what unique RPGs exist in their country, and how new people get into the hobby. Interviewees include regular gamers, club organizers, game shop owners, creators of actual play videos, RPG authors, and gaming studios.  While some places are known for their large role-playing scene and have a lot of local RPG systems, other regions of the world have smaller scenes and might not even have a single RPG in the local language. Every regular episode ends with a teaser for the next country – an excerpt from an actual play recording in that country’s language. The aim of this podcast is to broaden our horizon and find out about RPGs from all over the world. Enjoy!
