D&D. DM looking for the players (16-18+)

Homebrew Homebrew
Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Monday – Saturday, a group decides on day & time. Most people will probably play between 16:00 – 21:00 (GMT+0) Played in Discord voice chat A lot of people wanted to play, but later they went passive/ignore mode. Please, message only if you are going to play, don't make other players wait Discord nickname: weebseatshit *PREMISE* You are dragged into a dangerous encounter together with other unlucky ones. Now you are bonded whether you want it or not. Since you are a witness, some people want you dead, watch your back(s) & trust no one It's a Forgotten Realms based, custom (homebrew) campaign with an emphasis on story, characters & adventures, *WITHOUT LEVELS & STATS. "Theatre of the Mind" playstyle (means no VTT) I checked all classes & there are a lot of, in my opinion cheating spells. So i'd like, NOT INSIST, that every player has his own, custom spells. Though there are some nice spells in an original D&D. A player can have up to 20 spells from the start A player should choose a class that is the closest to his preference & then create spells/abilities. If a player can't, i'll help I'd like every player to be equally powerful Only these races are allowed: Human, Elf (Moon, Wood), Dwarf, Goliath, Tiefling (Purple, Pink, Blue), Tystling (a human with cat ears (& eyes)) These classes aren't allowed: Artificer, Barbarian, Monk, Psion d20 roll results: Dungeon Master sets a number in an RNG & decides what success number a player should roll Spells don't need mana or d20 roll to be cast, they only cooldown, but if a player is gonna spam spells, i'll Elfen Lied him or put some shit like Leo Bonhart from Witcher that will equalize/balance him *COMBAT* When combat starts, characters & their enemies roll for initiative to decide who goes first (the one with the biggest number, then decreasing or as Dungeon Master decides) If it's a tie result, reroll To choose a target for an enemy, Dungeon Master sets a number in an RNG To attack, character & other character(s) roll d20. If attacker's number is bigger, he deals damage. If attacker's number is less, a defending character dodges. A defending character can perform a counterattack, but if he fails, he receives damage To defeat (wound) a character: • Character must receive damage a certain amount of times • Character does it with any possible way (using environment, persuasion) I'll describe locations, looks, with little to no details. So, when a player is for example in a forest, search for "D&D forest artstation" or "forest artstation" & ambient Just like with the books, i'd prefer that player imagined his own stuff (& because there may be an info that player may not get or just ignore)

Just getting a group together! I am in desperate need of a dm/gm, and preferably if they're around the age range 14-19 because I find I am not eager to have a dm that's in their 20s (I am between the age range of 15-17 myself). Anyone in the range I listed is 100% allowed to join, anyone above or below said range will be met with skepticism, though welcomed in either way.

Long-term, ongoing, high fantasy campaign. Long-term as in many years. 4 players and a DM(me) can seat up to two more.  Tons of lore in a campaign world that I have been running games in for almost 40 years.  ALL folks, 18+, welcome as we are three guys and two gals that range widely in age, from 53(me) to 18. We are very casual with roughly 30% RP, 30% combat, 20% exploration, and 20% BS, and chatting. Poker night atmosphere. We play weekly on Saturday from 8ish until 2am at my home in Belmont, East Dayton.

No politics of any kind: right, left, sexuality, real world religions, excessive feminism/whatever etc not allowed, if you have a need to make a fuss about that, you will be kicked out. It's perfectly fine to have those views, but don't bring them to the game (this is meant to be fun, social, intellectually challenging). If you have major psych problems that get in the way of simple social interaction (explosive outbursts etc) don't contact me. I do ask for telephone number just in case of you not showing up to game and you didn't tell me otherwise. Emergency stuff, like if you get sick or something. I do care about my players! I have been GMing since 1997 or so, cut my gaming teeth on AD&D first ed. I go above and beyond for my players. I am very adept at teaching, btw. This campaign is on Mondays at 6pm Central time Discord video chat, but we could change time/day if the other players are willing and able. Gimme a heads up the day before canceling a game, always be ready to play at least 75% of the game sessions. You gotta make the characters WITH MY DIRECT ASSISTANCE as I make sure they fit with the group and campaigns, plus I give out extra benefits. No twinks (must have absolute power immediately types), but I will assist you with the math to make a potent PC as possible. Lots of stupid puns and jokes. My campaigns tend to be accidentally lethal, and my NPC's tend to react within the bounds of their Intelligence scores, and ruthlessly so. I poke players into beefing up their defenses in the low levels (in between game sessions), and I am adept at teaching, I value intelligence and wisdom in a player. I have no problem with potent PC's, so long as they play well with others and make sense. I tend to be very helpful in between game sessions, giving as much relevant info as possible without spoiling the plot, with less info for veteran players. Quite military friendly, as my NPCs tend to react realistically and tactically. I am extremely good at teaching, not just game mechanics but also tactics, even interaction with fellow players. During game sessions, I play all my NPC's to the hilt, so if they are actively trying to kill your PC, that's how it is. I rarely fudge dice results, when I do it's for drama's sake, trying to make the game exciting and interesting. Vampire has difficult to make characters, as it demands more thought. However the game play dice mechanics/rules are easy as heck. The hard part is that it demands more forethought to play, because there's a lot of deceptive NPCs, including your own. It is oddly more ethical/moral than medieval fantasy games by far, even though you don't play a hero normally, and even though you're a vampire feeding on humans and aren't human yourself. It's darker I suppose, lots of intrigue and figuring out what is really going on. Kinda like watching Babylon 5 or Dune, you have to take notes to recall everything that could be vital later. A LOT less combat than medieval fantasy games! It's rare, but nasty when it does occur. Maturity is advised. Note that I broke my campaign down in a timeline, it can be altered yes by PC actions, even down to the year and month. The only thing I haven't added in is the end of the world, Gehenna, YET. The modern day core rulebook is the one you want to spend time reading for the lore, but dark ages will have the discipline dice mechanics. Also, the Book of Nod will feature in the campaign. VERY DETAILED homebrew campaign that can be changed if you do exactly the right things at the right time, you will want to take notes to refer to later on, no exaggeration. RIght now they are in mid 1990, you will get their average xp to start with. You even get free generation if I can find a sire, an extra dot of disciplines, and 5 extra freebie plus 2 merits (Potent Aura, Common Sense/1 dot of Status). I give free Generation if you take from the official list. This can vary wildly based on what the two of us come up with (you dictate the parameters, I figure out how to make the mechanics do what you want and tell you about potential problems, and I pick out flaws so as to give you your own story arc). If you take from the Obscure list, you can buy your generation to 7th if you blow 6 background points on it.  Still gotta pick up Mentor for your sire, though.    I had to make tiny changes to V20 to make it simpler, faster. Like Celerity, Fortitude, Potence. Also I don't use abilities like Awareness, Larceny, and I kept the damn Linguistics skill as it is needed. That kind of thing. I even have combat rounds with meaningful character speed when I gotta be aware of the local terrain/number of villains etc. The Giovanni I replaced with Cappadocians and Lamia, as the Giovanni were megalomaniacs and incompetent besides, plus they don't seem to be at all relevant to any setting. The Ravnos I replaced as being totally divorced from the rest of the game, they don't have any influence, and seem to exist solely for troublemaking players. So, they got booted in favor of the Salubri, who actually ARE useful. Finally, I outright replaced all Setites with Baali, the latter are a much better written, and much more competent version of the Setites' Lovecraftian "I wanna bring demons into the world" schtick.  I noticed that if you played the Sabbat as written, they'd be wiped out entirely by werewolves, human hunters, and the Camarilla long ago. Worse, if they somehow managed to survive, they'd be discovered as vampires by humanity BECAUSE of their silly anti masquerade antics. On top of that, eating one's elders is a bad idea. All the Sabbat had was neonates and super buff elders, nothing in between. That means their stated purpose was a shambles. I changed their purpose to (eliminating the focus on fighting clan founders) dominating humanity, making humans into slaves. The Black Hand has been subsumed into the Sabbat as a whole. Official list of clans/bloodlines you can take in Chicago compatible with the group as it is: Nosferatu (must take Dark Fate flaw), Toreador, Ventrue, Brujah, Gangrel (Sabbat), Malkavian, City Gangrel (Camarilla), Tzimisce, Gargoyle, Caitiff (Anarch typically), Assamite (Milwaukee Sabbat) Obscure list (you can take them if you want, but you won't have support from fellow clan members in Chicago): Salubri (Warrior and very Camarilla), True Brujah. if you pick from the official list, I can give you free generation, but you gotta also pay for mentor ratings. If you pick from the obscure list, you can BUY up to 7th generation, but you blow 6 dots to pull it off. You will likely still need a mentor though. Caitiff are interesting, I made them able to teach ANY discipline they learn; normally the 13 clans can only teach their clan disciplines. A Tzimisce who goes Camarilla eventually has huge story potential, and could aid the group extensively via Vicissitude 2, Koldunism (need a level 3 ritual late in the campaign), and Animalism to hose over werewolves and aid the party vs frenzy. Brujah, Toreador, Ventrue, and the healer version of Salubri, True Brujah all have clan access to Presence, and level 3 of that power requires Appearance being high..... A Tremere is possible, but you'd need to be a diehard Anarch (meaning the local Tremere want your keister dead). Got a Cappadocian (a hospital morgue doctor), Salubri (one healer(an FBI agent), one watcher (a homicide police detective), and Lasombra (an amateur boxer and criminal lawyer, he wants to go Camarilla), and the new player took a Lamia, she's a former archaeology student.  If you don't know the clans, I can give you information but you will need the core rulebook, the dark ages core rulebook, tome of secrets, and Erciyes Fragments books. Also a total of 20 d10's, basically two matched sets of 10 d10's, but the 2 sets cannot match each other. Preferably translucent dice, not solid. You will want a spiral notebook and a mech pencil with a white eraser preferred (its gonna be a super complicated campaign lasting at least 2 years of weekly sessions). A plastic page protector for the character sheet, and a wet erase marker.

Game Edition: 5.5e, 5e, and homebrew Experience: None required Session Time: Sundays PST, 1:00-5:00 PM Requirements: Discord, Google Docs, mic, device System: Modified point buy, fixed HP, metric-based leveling (Custom), no multiclassing, homebrew allowed Themes: High fantasy, low fantasy, some dark themes, some sci-fi, some political intrigue, some modern themes This is a long-term campaign with heavy homebrew. The storyline may extend upwards to 7 years over 3-4 campaigns. There is also a spot for a co-DM if any of you are interested. Lucid Adventure is a world-renowned VMMORPG accessed entirely through a person's dreams, known for its unparalleled realism and absolute freedom. As a limitless sandbox game, it functions as a literal second world for its users. The game was created by Giga, the country's most powerful corporation. While the general public initially dismissed it as a mere simulation, players are shocked by the game's realism upon first logging on. The game changed more than just how people played games; top-ranking players were treated as global celebrities, and real-world economic opportunities increasingly depended on a person's in-game capabilities. Furthermore, Lucid Adventure offered employment to injured or disabled individuals, enabling them to regain their physical mobility. Professor Altria Pendragon wrote a paper about Lucid Adventure called “The Fulfillment of Dreams,” in which she famously wrote: "This game is a new wave. For lack of a better word, it is an evolution and revolution of a new mankind." The Curse of Strahd

Homebrew Homebrew
Horror Horror
I am currently running the infamous Curse of Strahd module and have an opening. I invite you in. The Game— Role-Play, Combat, Exploration:   This game leans into gothic horror and slow-burn tension. Expect moral strain, layered NPCs, and decisions that linger. Humor has a place, but it must live inside the world, not fracture it.   The game is generally balanced, though each session may favor one playstyle or skillset over another based on the choices made. The DM/Storyteller   I grew up playing AD&D but stepped away for several years before returning under the 5e ruleset. I prefer a realistic motif to RPGs.   - Homebrew 5e 2014 & 2024.   - Sunday 1pm - 5/6pm EST   - Looking for Player(s) 30+ The Players:   Players should be 30 years of age or older. In our experience, older players are more likely to make a long-term commitment to the campaign and be respectful of everyone's time and effort. We value reliability, communication, and a collaborative table where everyone can count on one another. We are currently running with one male Fighter type, one male Cleric type, and one female Ranger type. They are currently around level 6.   The right player(s) for this table:   - Engages with the story   - Enjoys existential dread as much as tactical combat   - Thinks beyond their sheet   - Understands that fear, restraint, and consequence are tools, not obstacles   - Can be inventive when the moment calls for it   - Keeps immersion in mind. Knows the difference between Above Table and On Table. Doesn’t Metagame. Requirements: (1) Discord. Voice & Video. (2) Maps. Owlbear Rodeo. (3) D&D Beyond. Build your character. We will create it together but arrive prepared. (4) Google Docs: Read Player Contract (Horror), Homebrew, and the Player Handouts. Agree to the Player Contract. Town Crier:   We will have a Session Zero and possibly a Session 0.5 game to ground your character in the world. The world is the Forgotten Realms. Become familiar with the Sword Coast/Faerun. Your character will start there and enter the Shadowfell/Barovia— the Curse of Strahd, via the Mist. Worry not, whatever you don’t understand now will become clear in time, well translucent at least.

grounded: the helix organizations mistakes

Homebrew Homebrew
Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
The Helix Initiative was introduced to the public as a revolutionary leap in environmental adaptation, biological medicine, and survival science. Officially, the organization claimed it was developing new ways for humanity to survive ecological collapse, disease, and resource shortages. Behind closed doors, however, Helix operated hidden research divisions dedicated to experimentation far beyond legal or ethical limits. Somewhere deep within those divisions, a scientist identified in surviving records only as Dr. W██d████ T████ developed a machine capable of shrinking living organisms to less than an inch tall. The technology was presented internally as a breakthrough in resource efficiency and medical research—but many of the subjects brought into testing were children between the ages of eight and sixteen. Most never returned. You are one of the survivors. After undergoing the procedure, you awaken inside an ordinary city park that has become an impossible wilderness at your scale. Blades of grass tower like trees. Puddles become lakes capable of drowning entire groups. Ants patrol the dirt like armored soldiers, while spiders transform sections of the park into web-choked death zones. Every inch of terrain matters. Every storm is catastrophic. Survival depends on learning how to weaponize the environment itself—crafting tools and defenses from thorns, sap, insect shells, broken plastic, roots, and scavenged debris left behind by previous miniature civilizations that clearly did not survive for long. As you explore deeper into the park, you begin discovering abandoned outposts, collapsed shelters, and fragmented Helix logs detailing increasingly unstable experiments. The records reference attempts to create “evolutions chosen suvivors” capable of evolving beyond normal biological limits. Again and again, one phrase appears alongside heavily censored personnel files: MARROW SYNDROME. The disease slowly destroys the body in stages—first decaying bone tissue, then muscle structure, and finally flooding the lungs with blood. Somewhere among the corrupted files are hints that Dr. W██d████ T████ never joined Helix out of loyalty. Some logs imply he infiltrated the organization to expose its corruption, free the surviving test subjects, and continue researching a cure for a terminally ill child connected to the syndrome. Whether those rumors are true remains uncertain. Helix officially denies the existence of both the disease and the scientist. Not every strange thing in the park comes from Helix laboratories. Survivors occasionally encounter a bizarre figure known only as Rock—a hyper-muscular talking bee obsessed with shouting “MUSCLE” at every possible opportunity. Most groups dismiss him as insane until they realize he understands far more about the park than he should. One moment he acts like a reckless coach forcing terrified children to become stronger, and the next he casually references erased facilities, failed experiments, or “previous attempts” that nobody else remembers. Near the edges of abandoned Helix sectors, Rock sometimes becomes unusually quiet, staring into empty space before muttering warnings that sound less like jokes and more like genuine fear. HE IS WATCHING YOUR EVERY MOVE...

Paramnesic Flux

Homebrew Homebrew
Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Hello, friend! We have slots to fill. The campaign is Paramnesic Flux; my schizo cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic homebrew campaign set in the year 2090. The system is Cities Without Number, it is easy to learn and all the necessary resources will be provided to you. We aren't playing D&D, for Christ's sake stop messaging me about it For some context, we are post-WW3, post cataclysmic meteoric impact, and post colony-ship launch disaster. Certain rare individuals can influence causality, represented by the magic and summoning rules. Cybernetics as an industry is slowly losing prominence in favor of gene-splicing and nanite therapies. Most surviving cities are either at higher elevations or have been sealed and pressurized to ensure livable air quality. People uploaded into early-gen cybernetic bodies struggle to find working replacement parts. Corporate-funded enclaves exist in facsimile of ancient cultures, from genuine attempts at recreating historical periods, to escapism thinly veiled in pastiche. The player characters began their story as amnesiacs, no evidence of their identity save for a designation tattooed just above their heart. Goals may vary, from unearthing the memories of your former life, to carving out a name for yourself. As you level up, you will be given basic writing prompts for flashbacks to the character's former life, up to max level. If they die, you will have the opportunity to roll a new character with a normal background. Seeing as you will be joining after session 1, you will have the opportunity to join either as another amnesiac with the same benefits and drawbacks, or as a more normal human. Be advised: there will be gore, prostitution, gang violence, existential dread, political intrigue, slurs, drug use, and other mature themes. They won't be the core focus, but they will be present. It will be a narrative and RP-heavy game, but I include at least one hostile encounter per session if possible. ----- Major influences thus far have been Transmetropolitan, Terminator, Big Trouble in Little China, Ghost in the Shell, A Clockwork Orange, and many many more. Be prepared for the strange. ----- As for me, I have been DMing homebrew 5e campaigns for almost ten years now. Thank God I am finally getting the hell away from that system. The game will be played in r20 and our discord chat every Thursday at 8:30PM EST. 18+ only, a Mic is required. Pop me a message and I will send you a link to the server and help get any other questions answered. And to help repel the sociopaths: this game is about the group as a whole, you aren't the main character.

Magic was once a divine harmony that held reality together—structured, stable, and unquestioned. That harmony broke. Now the world is unstable in subtle but growing ways: spells behave unpredictably, memories don’t always align, and entire regions of the world shift as if reality itself is improvising. In response, powerful factions race to understand what caused the collapse. Some seek to restore order. Others believe the fracture is evolution. And some want to push the world past its breaking point entirely. Amid this growing instability, a group of adventurers from different walks of life finds themselves drawn into the same pattern of anomalies—each one touched in a personal way by the unraveling of magic. There is no chosen hero, no singular destiny. Only a shared truth beginning to emerge: Something is composing reality again… and the world is being rewritten one note at a time. Whether the party becomes its correction, its disruption, or its final silence is entirely up to them. I’m aiming to host the game from friday the 17th 4:00–7:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (Lexington, KY), which is 8:00–11:00 p.m. GMT for anyone joining from outside the U.S. 🌍 Trying to land in that window so folks across time zones can hop in comfortably—hope to see you there! 🎲

Rock and stone eh? Pick up your ax and hammer we are going Dungeon delving. The forgotten halls call to us and the lost riches even call is louder! The ancient and forgotten halls of Ku'h Buldar lay dormant for years. It's halls echo of its glory days gone past, remembered only in myth and legend. Until one faithful day a Dwarven prospector stumbled upon the ruined gate of the lost civilization. After that the rest followed, the prospectors, adventurers, settlers and thus the community grew. Guilds were created. Daily ventures became a norm. Gold, riches and some artefacts were retrieved but there were more to be found. You, a young strapping dwarf eager for glory sign up in a guild. Get assigned to a group and begin your fist decent. This game is for the dwarf enthusiast and short king lovers(but not excluding the rest). The setting is going to be a little gritty but still lighthearted at times. Will be using some homebrew rules for items, classes and species. The main species will of course be The dwarf. Gnomes are also allowed. NO TALL FOLK HERE!!!(ofc some exceptions are allowed) The structure of the game will be a kin to a rougelike dungeon delving.  As the great halls are separated in many layers. Each so called run will have a different outcome as slowly the secrets and treasures will be unveiled.  Will be discussing much more details on session zero character creation, the vibes of the setting and much more. Session 0 is free.

I know homebrew is vague so to give you a picture, i'll summarize, this campaigh will be open world with a bunch of Quests that you can choose to do or not to do, some Quests are monster hunting, some are odd jobs like being the staff at a busy cafe', some are finding "rare drops", all of this makes for a very well balanced campaigh with fun roleplaying, enagaging combat and interesting exploration. Do note that this campaigh will be using a non-class system that I balanced to the best of my ability to make combat fun. The tools that i will be using for this campaigh, are Discord, roll 20 and Google Docs. (there's not anything that you need to set up, i just need you to be able to use them.) My discord: AquosPlayz77

DETAILS Online, AD&D 1e/homebrew campaign with the developer of AD&D Toolkit.  Tuesday nights 6:45pm - 9:45pm EST. REQUIREMENTS - Discord and working mic - https://roll20.net/ account - https://adndtoolkit.com/ account - $10/player/session DESCRIPTION Karmont is a small, frontier kingdom nestled among a series of mountain ranges near the coast of a largely unexplored continent.  The namesake capitol is cradled in the tallest peaks, far to the north.  Beyond the mountains are desolate lands, ruled by all matter of foul creatures.  Tantalized by the hopeful promise of treasure hordes and riches uncounted, adventurous types have been settling the coastal side of the mountains for decades now and continue to push northward. Kobolds, Goblins, and ill-mannered creatures of all sorts continually raid what cities have taken root in the fledgling kingdom.  Their ultimate aim is to drive all good peoples south, into the ocean from whence they came.  Thus the King has vowed to eventually press his forces beyond the mountains, to bring the fight to the enemy and put a permanent halt to their machinations and all of the resulting incursions.  Will you find treasure and glory in this wild, hinterlands?  Will you be able to stamp your mark as a hero of Karmont? The kingdom of Krusiven is caught in the throws of a revolution. The monstrous King Kudellir has used his authority over the kingdom to impose high taxes, establish harsh curfews and checkpoints, and use the military against the citizenry. Now, the Crowned Prince has vocally shown his support for the rebellion, leaving the safety of the castle to lead the people out of his father's rule. In this game, you will be taking on the role as the Yellow Brigade, a small party of revolutionaries as they climb the ranks to help free the kingdom from tyranny. You'll travel the country and gather supporters and uncover hidden secrets that the King has kept hidden. --- The Human Kingdom of Krusiven is an old one, rising to prominence soon after the Fall of Obrikjar- the capital of the First Empire. The ruling family, House Kravik, united the wandering surviors of the Fall and founded a realm of Human traditionalism and a deep-seeded hated for divinity. For many generations, the Kings of the land were responsible for growing the kingdom to its current glory. But the current King, Lawrence Kravik III, has done the opposite. The tyrant has imposed new taxes and increased existing ones, sent his personal militia out to enforce his personal law, holds public executions for lawbreakers like parades, and has even talked about starting food restrictions. All the while he lavishes in fat luxury, and whispers from castle staff tell of dark rituals and even darker visitors. The tipping point came when the personal soldiers of the King, called the Cerulean Claws, began taking too much coal from the people of Graywell's Hollow. The small mining town had already had most of their coal taken by the Crown for "royal business", but now they were left with basically nothing, and winter was soon approaching. The people revolted and drove the Crown from their town and secured enough of their coal to last the winter as well as full control of their coal mine. This inspired groups from around the kingdom to rise, and soon the Uncrowned were established. After a year of war, neither side gaining any true advantage and essentially just trading lands back and forth, the Crown Prince of the kingdom fled the castle and joined with the Uncrowned. This reignited the fires of rebellion in the people and they came back in force, with one of the major farming communities of the kingdom forcing the Crown to leave soon after this news. Now, the revolution is at a pivitol point where a big move needs to be made. There are many smaller groups within the rebellion that want the spotlight, one in particular acts as the "special forces" for the Uncrowned. The Yellow Brigade is a small taskforce of heavy hitters made of a mix of different kinds of fighters brought together with the sole purpose to win the war and put Prince Avery on the throne. ---|---|--- Hey, folks 👋🏻 My name is Braeden and as you can see, I'm putting together a D&D 5.5E table centered around a revolution against a tyrant ruler. I'm a long-time lover, player, and GM for many TTRPGs with experience going back to when I was 8 years old. I was inspired by Fable 3 to make this game when, after I played it, I thought "I could do better than that". So I wrote this 😂 I plan on having large scale battles, naval battles, and stellar boss battles paired with a tracked party renown, political intrigue, and the ability to affect change in the kingdom. This is a paid table with 5 total seats and the campaign will run from Level 3 to Level 12-14. The standard rate for play is $20/session for a 4-hour session ($5/hr), but we may sometimes go under. I do my best to not go overtime, but if that happens, your session rate is capped at $20. Sessions will be every Wednesday at 8:00 AM CST and will repeat for 8-10 sessions. If you're interested in this game, or if you have other questions, you can reach out here or on Discord: cheeks 4901. Let's play some fun games together!

Welcome to Talos

Homebrew Homebrew
Combat focused Combat focused
Welcome to Talos is a homebrewed world of mine that I have been working one for well over 3 years at this point. The campaign plot: Welcome to Talos opens with a cutscene: a group of people(that arent the main party), running through a dense forest speaking an unknown language running from a massive monster(each player will see a different monster). After that the party wakes up in a cell(cliché I know). After that the world is your oyster, I have 3 major story lines that can be chosen and used throughout the campaign. Now onto the deeply homebrewed portion of the world, that would be its races, this content is home to the Genasi, they arent your typical ones no I made a revamped version of the base race and made one for each damage type, and this content has a kingdom that belongs to each type. However within the last 100 years a major astral shift happened and transported some of the Forgotten realms species into this world. So some creatures are completely nonexistent in Talos, or very rare. This campaign is meant to be long with each session being a different focus than the last, like the first session is an exploration session full of puzzle solving and lore deep dives, and then the next session gets into deeeeeep rp with PCs, and NPCs, or is very combat focused. I shoot for about 3-4 hrs of gameplay every session. So if you like incredible homebrew worlds with new races to play, legendary treasure to find, and challenging bosses to fight come on in and join, shoot me a message here or add me on discord @noxtu1ous. Once all players are accounted for we will discuss more. We only meet every other Saturday

Please contact me on discord via "ellacrium" if you want to get if contact! FREE GAME, this is not a paid game About me Hello there! I am Brett, (M20) but online I go by Ella. I've been playing DND for around 5 years now, and Dming since I've started playing. Personally I've only ever played online but would absolutely love to start up a new IRL game. I have a place to play at my place, but for our first few sessions I would like to play a one shot or two at a game shop because no offense I'm not comfortable letting strangers into my home, and also this lets us connect in a neutral space. I'm a theatre kid born and raised, have a feline friend that I love and cherish, and am a big gamer and anime watcher, just recently I binged all the saw films for some reason lol. I would like for the game to be weekly but if we have to do bi-weekly, or something else I'm fine with that. My goal currently is just to find some awesome friends to play some good old fasioned DND with! :) How I like to run my games! For how I like to run my games, they are normally more serious, with of course room for sillies and whatnot, probably 70/30 RP to Combat, but if my players prefer combat I can give them more often! I personally prefer no truly random combat encounters, opting to make every encounter mean something or have some reason to have happened. (No random wolf fights in the forest, instead bandits that all have a small backstory and are trying to rob the cargo your carrying) I used to make all my maps on Inkarnate but will more likely than not do some drawn paper maps for this. For classes like blood hunter and Artificer they are both allowed I will just implement some small changes to what they will do! For other homebrew it is on a let me know basis on whether it is allowed or not! I additionally have a list of homebrew that I can provide that I wrote myself! Please have your own dice, or way to roll them, for how you create your character sheet is up to you as long as I have a way to access it like a copy you provide me or screenshots you send me! Additionally I like running exclusively homebrew games, as for me its more fulfilling, so I apologize if you don't like this! What we will be playing! (CAMPAIGN) As I stated before I would like to see if we could play a one shot or two before meeting up to start a campaign. The campaign I am currently undecided what we would be playing as I like to tailor make campaigns for my players and for what they are currently looking to play, so please lmk what your looking for and what you would like to play when you can if there is a particular theme that you really like such as Fuedal japanese, pirate, typical fantasy, grim fantasy etc. or what your prefered style of play is, if you like puzzles, etc or anything else you'd want to add! I also have a few premade campaigns but would rather make something new for you guys to explore!

Welcome back to Ravenloft ! With the upcoming new book, I will be doing a new custome game themed around Ravenloft ! Main story would be about exploring other Domains of Dread, and not just Barovia ! Time would be Mondays 10 PM EST About DM : I am an experienced DM of 6 years making a new campaign open for new players to join. I'll be happy to teach and explain anything about Dnd. I am happy to accommodate any type of player, as long as they are not disruptive and are not causing issues for me or any other players. I tend to do more RP then Combat, so expect about a 60/40 split, if not 70/30. About Cost : I ask for 20 USD payment at least 24 hour before the session. Refund will be made with reasonable situations as well as refunded at the end of session if you're not willing to continue. Online, 0e ODND, CST, Thursday-Saturday; What? Daggerfall level of Do-What-You-Want survival horror game How? Discord used for communication and record keeping. Miro used for visuals. Voice recorded, transcribed, and processed for notes to keep the world consistent. To enter the game requires one trial 1-on-1 game or a multiplayer trial game with another newbie to the group. Contact via discord or Groupfinder DM if interested. Who is playing? Drop in/Drop out West Marches style. Play 1-on-1 with DM any time on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, or coordinate with others to schedule with other players in group effort. Player cooperation not required, you can adventure with NPCs for equal treasure share or hire them on other terms. Speak with players out or inside of game to meet in specific places. Enter the timeline in approved places. Having multiple characters in  multiple locations in the game is advantageous as the world is vast and distance takes time to traverse. What are the rules? - All weapons do 1d6 damage - Maps exist for the DM but no maps are given. - Homebrew: Alignment must be earned and alters the rules for roleplaying. More info explained in trial game. - Modified Death's Door - Save vs. Death Magic or lose -1 HP. <-10 HP means Death - All sentient encountered creatures roll reaction rolls. - Character classes are: Magic-User, Fighting-Man, Cleric, Elf, Dwarf, Hobbit - Encumbrance, Hunger, and Thirst is tracked - Treasure weighs something. Supply, demand, and standing determines when and where you can use it. Tips? - The DM will not remind players of quest options available to the players. - Notes and good memory are important. Knowledge is precious. - Hiring NPCs is a core mechanic - No set story. No narrative or character arcs. Story emerges from random results of the game, so play like no one is watching but the NPCs.

I am looking to run a 3-4 hour session. This will be played out of foundry VTT. All experience levels welcome. I'm in my 30s so I prefer players that are at least 20+ The start time is 9:30 AM PDT (16:30 UTC) on TUESDAY - This will start as a one-shot and level 3 characters and if all goes well will be a full campaign. - SETTING The setting is in the middle of a sand desert. Many oasis outline the area and these are heavily protected. You and the rest of your group come from one of these Oasis locations or a surrounding village. That place that you come from doesn't exist anymore because a nomadic tribe had come in and destroyed your home. They said you are a Zero now and you should be grateful that this honor was bestowed upon you, "you're part of the greater woven path." They chained you amongst a hundred others who are now pulling the front of their caravan. This caravan is built from many smaller metal carts chained and bolted together which create this larger vessel. You all pull this giant metal cart amalgamation together and have been for the past several weeks. You hear jingling amongst the cart. From the various noises and conversations you hear you could tell each cart is filled with various trinkets, resting areas, armories, treasures, and the aroma of food. That aroma you’ve been smelling everyday is not the same aroma that is fed to you by the end of the day. It is the left over slop all piled together that fills you up. It’s a luxury given to you compared to the back of the herd who pulls the caravan and who are more likely than not living corpses, they don’t eat. Eventually you presume that will be you, but luckily that isn’t you now. For the short lives you’ve known in this tribe, you’ve never heard of anyone being demoted to a Zero. That is until today. A man dressed in white silk clothes is lashed, stripped of his adornments, and chained next to you. It doesn’t seem to bother him at all really, the only noise he commits to are words he mutters as his judges fix the riggings, “Aasteri will be displeased to what you are doing today.” - either dm or reply below the following info. If you get ahold of me on discord let me know your groupfinder username so I can easily know if I've talked to you on this site >>> discord: junka111 Name/Nickname: Age: Experience: Character idea: (Name, Age, Race, Class (Subclass if you already know), background, personality) Feel free to link a photo if you like. Hazecrux: Lines in the Mist

Homebrew Homebrew
Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
# The World Behind the Mist Awaits You All you need is an idea for an ordinary person whose life has become entangled with a myth or fictional character (Preferably one from Greek Mythos or a Videogame). After that, it will be up to you to decide what kind of legend you will become. --- Hazecrux is a modern city you won't find on any map outside it's borderd. It's a place where myth and legend walk beside ordinary people every day. Most will never notice. While Superheros and Magic might be real, An armored knight looks like a police officer in riot gear. A fireball might be remembered as a gas explosion. Impossible events become strange rumors before fading into comfortable explanations. The Mist protects the regulars of humanity from the impossible, rewriting memories and smoothing over the cracks in reality. But some people awaken. They become **Rifts**—individuals whose lives have become intertwined with ancient myths, legendary heroes, forgotten monsters, fairy tales, gods, and stories older than civilization itself. Those legends grant incredible abilities, but they are never free. Every step deeper into your myth brings greater power... and a greater risk of losing yourself to the story that chose you. Hazecrux has survived catastrophe before. Years ago, an event known only as **the Calamity** nearly destroyed the city. During the chaos, the mysterious Overseer evacuated thousands into vast underground shelters. Yet salvation came with tragedy. The city's greatest hero, Excelsior, returned from the dead only to become its greatest threat, slaughtering innocents before finally being defeated by a single masked luchador. The age of superheroes ended that day. In their place rose the luchadores—modern champions who protect the city where the old heroes failed. The Overseer vanished soon after. His successor, Tina Bellows, now oversees Hazecrux openly. Even ordinary citizens know her name, though few understand what she truly protects, thinking her just some unelected Governmental official. Challenging her is the charismatic Zander Tombs, a young man with ties to the criminal underworld. He argues the city deserves freedom instead of guardianship. His supporters call him a revolutionary. His critics point to his father is a man whispered to control much of Hazecrux's criminal underworld. As if that weren't enough, a colossal spaceship now hangs over the city that Zander says he controls... along with his gaggle of would be supervillians that follow him. Even the Mist refused to explain that away, letting all see it and the shuttles that descend into the streets dropping who knows what and picking up only Zander knows who. A new faction has emerge. A new part of the City has sprung up in the Barren Fields, Arcaida... the Las Vegas of Hazecrux... a place with an ecclectic feel found only in the Basho. This island on the land feels distinct as the rest of the city sits on a knife's edge. Everyone can tell the world stands on the the cusp of another turning point. And somehow... ...you've become part of the story. --- ## If You Join the Game, You Will Find: **Character-Driven Stories** Who you care about matters as much as what you can do. Friends, family, lovers, rivals, mentors, and enemies shape the story just as much as ancient powers. Relationships are the heart of the campaign. **Mystery and Investigation** Every legend hides another secret. Every conspiracy has another layer beneath it. The truth is buried beneath the Mist, and discovering it often raises more questions than answers. **Myth Meets Modern Life** Ancient gods argue over coffee. Fairy queens negotiate through corporate lawyers. Dragons own businesses. Heroes have mortgages. Legendary stories continue in the modern world, wearing contemporary faces. **Meaningful Choices** There are no perfect answers. Every alliance has a cost. Every victory changes someone. Your choices won't simply determine how your character grows—they will shape the future of Hazecrux itself. **Identity and Transformation** The greatest struggle isn't defeating monsters. It's deciding whether you remain yourself or slowly become the myth living inside you. Power always asks something in return. The question is what you're willing to give. --- The game is run using Roll20 for tabletop play and Discord for voice and video. Sessions are streamed and recorded for posterity. A microphone is required, and a camera is strongly encouraged. This is a roleplay-heavy campaign centered on mystery, investigation, relationships, and difficult choices. Combat happens, but violence is rarely the solution to the problems that matter most. The game explores mature themes and emotional subject matter, and we maintain an open-door policy so players can comfortably discuss boundaries and sensitive topics. New players are absolutely welcome. Whether you're familiar with *City of Mist* or completely new to the setting, we'll help you learn as you play. Characters begin as ordinary people whose lives have become touched by myth, and the campaign gradually explores what that means for them and the city around them. --- This is a mature game about mystery, mythology, identity, and the stories that define us. It asks not simply what powers you possess, but what kind of person you choose to become when legends begin writing themselves through your life. If you enjoy stories like *The Dresden Files*, *American Gods*, *Percy Jackson* (with a darker tone), *The Sandman*, *The Wicked + The Divine*, *Fables*, *Buffy the Vampire Slayer*, or *Spider-Man* at its most personal, you'll probably feel right at home beneath the Mist.

Combat is important, but not every encounter is meant to be solved by fighting. Many conflicts can be resolved through diplomacy, alliances, investigation, planning, or roleplay. --- 🎭 Campaign Tone This campaign is: • Character-driven • Lore-heavy • Emotionally grounded • Long-term • Serious worldbuilding with fun party interactions The setting is dark fantasy with occasional horror and mature themes, but it isn't constantly grimdark. Characters with believable personalities, flaws, goals, and emotional depth fit this campaign much better than lone-wolf or purely edgy characters. Preferred Alignments • Neutral • Good --- 🌌 The Setting The campaign takes place inside the Hell Dimension, a massive universe ruled by powerful Warlords, kingdoms, civilizations, ancient beings, and the Seven Deadly Sins. Politics, diplomacy, warfare, mystery, exploration, and relationships all play major roles throughout the story. Most intelligent creatures aren't simply monsters—they have beliefs, emotions, ambitions, allies, families, rivalries, and histories that change depending on player actions. --- 🌍 Character Creation I love working with players to build unique characters. You're encouraged to create your own world before your character arrived in Hell. Your world could be: - Medieval Fantasy - Dark Fantasy - Cyberpunk - Modern - Steampunk - Sci-Fi - Ancient Mythology - High Magic - Post-Apocalyptic - Or something completely original. Characters usually arrive in Hell by either: - Dying - Making a deal with one of the Seven Deadly Sins If you'd rather play something unique—such as a Hellborn, someone connected to a Warlord, or another custom concept—I'm happy to help make it fit naturally into the world. --- ⚔️ Combat & Roleplay Bosses are heavily homebrewed with unique mechanics, reactions, legendary abilities, and encounter-specific features. Players are rewarded for creative thinking just as much as combat. Several major encounters in the campaign have ended through diplomacy, alliances, or roleplay rather than defeating every enemy. Relationships with NPCs matter. Friends, rivals, allies, political connections, and even romance (if everyone is comfortable) can naturally develop throughout the campaign. --- 📜 Looking For Players with roughly 1 year or more of D&D experience who enjoy: • Strong roleplay • Character development • Collaborative storytelling • Emotional moments • Long-term campaigns • Worldbuilding --- 📩 Interested? **Am going to host another campaign of my Novymirn world, first campaign is full, thats why the 0/5 so slots open! **Probably for friday night, saturdays or sundays noon. ***Some of the ART of the campaign is AI generated, however we dont want to encourage/promote or claim it as real art, I just simply lack the funds and time to create the assets. The worldbuilding/writing is free of AI. Just a disclaimer if you arent fine with that. Imagine a dark high-fantasy cold world with snowy magical forests, cool pairies and the usual abandoned tank wreck next to a decaying base. In sense thats the world of Novymirn, my homebrew project I have been working on for years, that is lightly taken inspiration from the anime "GATE" as its in a way a clash between fantasy and modern, but its not actually the focus, which in true is the mysterious nature of the world, how it works and what happened. And the clash is the society and history found: the native 'beastfolk' or Zvernarod have built a late-medieval fantasy civilization here, using glowing crystals to cast powerful spells and scavenging strange, ancient metals from long-vanished ruins to forge their weapons. Meanwhile, a dwindling army of normal Soviets who marched through a mysterious portal decades ago are now permanently stranded here, clinging to their firearms, tanks, and a heavily fortified bunker-state. Thats the very brief introduction, and there alot more... About Me First -Language & Timezone: I speak both English and Spanish well, and I’m in the CST/CT Timezone. -Experience: I’m not super experienced running official D&D (I've only done a couple), I have ton of text roleplaying and creative writing experience. Since we are using a system built from scratch, we’ll all be learning, improving, and building this together. -The Logistics: We'll do sessions via Discord voice chat (no cameras needed, though I don't mind them). I'm aiming for weekly or bi-weekly sessions. I’m flexible with the schedule but would prefer late-night CST. Would like to record the sessions and possibly upload them. What to Expect from the Game -The Focus: The campaign will focus heavily on roleplaying, exploration, world immersion, and player interactions. -The System: I use my own super-simplified dice-rolling system. It's designed to let us focus way more on narrative and roleplay, while still keeping that fun luck-vs-skill factor of the dice. -Work in Progress: I’m actively working on this world. It’s mature enough to play in, but expect quite a bit of reading for character creation and immersion. I even have a work-in-progress online character creator form you can use! -Customization: Because I'm still developing the lore, I only have a few official species fully written out. I am totally open to homebrewing custom, in-lore species with you. Expect a few lore holes here and there, but we can fill them together. Who I'm Looking For -Mature/Adults Only: I don't want to deal with any out-of-game drama. -Genuinely Interested: People who actually want to explore the world, find out about its weird nature, the places, and the people. At its core, this game is about discovery. -Reliable: Consistency and punctuality for sessions is huge for me. -Any Experience Level: I don't mind if you are a total beginner or a veteran—I'll need to teach you how I run things anyway!

A ragtag band of locals find themselves embroiled in a strange adventure involving an unhinged warforged, a psychotic docent, and a plot seemingly involving a nefarious branch of House Cannith. One of those you've been roped in with attached the docent to himself and now hears voices, but has started displaying extra abilities. Your mentor, the unhinged warforged named Trace 7, has disappeared, but she left you with a mission to find a way into a secret facility in the underbelly of Sharn to discover the secrets of this organization. Can you find your way in and discover what House Cannith is up to? This game uses the Pathfinder for Savage Worlds Ruleset and Kristian Serrano's Eberron for Savage Worlds adaptation hosted on the Fantasy Grounds VTT, which is now free to play. All resources will be supplied upon acceptance. This is an ongoing campaign with five players currently. I'll accept up to one more. We play on the last Sunday of the month at 18:00 Eastern Time (Currently UTC-4).

Dawnstriders Guild

Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
Hi! I am looking for 1–6 players for an ongoing homebrew D&D 5e campaign called The Dawnstriders Guild. The party has created an adventuring guild called The Dawnstriders, and the campaign focuses on guild life, quests, exploration, reputation-building, character moments, dangerous jobs, and the consequences of player choices. This is not mainly a “chosen heroes must immediately save the world” campaign. It is more about adventurers building something together and seeing where the road takes them. The current party is around level 3. I use milestone leveling, and because of how the campaign works, it is not guaranteed that every character will always be exactly the same level. Homebrew Documents I have a lot of written documents for the setting, including things like allowed playable races, nations, gods, world lore, house rules, and other campaign information. You do not need to read or memorize everything before joining. The documents are there to help players who want more detail, to answer character creation questions, and to make the homebrew world easier to understand over time. Schedule We usually play biweekly, and sessions are normally 5+ hours. I am in Sweden, so times are based on Swedish time: CET / UTC+1 during winter CEST / UTC+2 during summer The exact day is chosen by poll. Players usually vote between options on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, often starting around 1:00 PM Swedish time. A Guild Campaign session is usually doable as long as at least 4 people vote for that session. You can request that we start later, but please mention it as soon as possible, preferably two or more days before the session. For Guild Campaign days, it may also be possible to arrive up to two hours early or leave up to one hour early, but please mention it ahead of time, preferably at least one day before the session. Platform We use Roll20 for the game and Discord for voice. The Discord server is a large YouTuber’s server where I am an admin. The server itself is big, but you do not need to interact with the wider server if you do not want to. You only need to use the relevant campaign areas and voice chat. Table Expectations This is an LGBTQ+ friendly table. I am an ally, and I do not allow real-life bigotry at the table. In-world prejudice and conflict may exist in limited ways, but I try to keep it minimal and not make it a major focus. The goal is for the real people at the table to feel respected and comfortable. I am looking for players who are friendly, communicative, respectful, and willing to work with the group. You do not need to already know the other party members or connect your character to them before joining. Campaign Tone The Guild Campaign is generally flexible and adventuring-focused. Expect a mix of: Roleplay Exploration Quests Combat Guild development Homebrew lore Character choices mattering Some danger and consequences There is also a separate Ships Campaign, which is higher-tier, harsher, and more serious. New players would be joining The Dawnstriders Guild first. After you have been in the guild for a while and gotten to know the group, joining the Ships Campaign may become possible if it seems like a good fit. AI Token Note A number of NPC tokens and some player character tokens may have been made using AI image tools. I want to be transparent about this. I am not using AI because I think artists are unimportant. Quite the opposite: I believe real artists deserve to be paid fairly for their work. I simply do not have the artistic ability to make all the tokens myself, and I do not currently have the money to pay artists for the amount of art a long-running homebrew campaign can require. Players are welcome to provide their own character art or token, including commissioned art, self-made art, free-use art, public domain art, or other art they have permission to use. The Gods of the Setting The world has Nine Gods, and they are the only true gods of the setting. Most people worship them in some way, though some are more devoted to one than the others. Lezias — God of light and dark, justice and crime, truth and lies, mercy and judgment. He is tied to courts, law, balance, redemption, and punishment. Voysus — God of smithing, cities, community, protection, construction, craftsmanship, invention, hearths, and contracts. He is honored by builders, smiths, inventors, city folk, and protectors. Toesis — God of earth, shadow, twilight, storms, peace, marriage, metals, wanderers, exiles, secrecy, hidden places, and forgotten things. He is strange, unpredictable, and deeply tied to travel and the unknown. Briona — Goddess of knowledge, strength, order, law, trade, alchemy, oaths, secrets, dreams, stories, memory, writing, teaching, logic, and debate. She is revered by scholars, lawkeepers, teachers, scribes, and those who seek mastery. Araura — Goddess of magic, stars, travel, rain, sun, autumn, luck, fate, and navigation. She is closely tied to spellcasters, travelers, weather, dreams, and the arcane. Rosrena — Goddess of chaos, nature, life, spring, trickery, mischief, birth, food, festivals, wilderness, and beasts. She is joyful and nurturing, but not harmless. Zurona — Goddess of death, wealth, water, fire, undeath, judgment of souls, and the afterlife. She is feared and respected, and most people pray to her at funerals or when death feels near. Emera — Goddess of love, war, beauty, home, blood, art, passion, jealousy, glory, honor, courtship, and seduction. Soldiers, lovers, artists, and those driven by passion often pray to her. Eton — God of destruction, the hunt, creation, winter, survival, endurance, and the moon. He is harsh, primal, and tied to cold, predators, ruin, strength, and survival. Resurrection Resurrection exists, but it is not automatic. When someone tries to bring a dead character back, it is treated as a petition to the gods, not just a simple spell effect. A resurrection attempt involves a roll with a high DC. The DC can be lowered by meaningful deeds, words, offerings, roleplay, or other things that make sense in the moment. If the character has been dead for less than about one minute, the resurrection is usually still under Zurona’s judgment. If the soul has already been judged and passed onward, the petition may instead go to whichever god has claim over that soul. At the beginning of the ritual, there may be a clue, such as a smell, sound, or other sign, hinting at which god is being petitioned. The basic idea is: resurrection is possible, but it is serious, uncertain, and tied to the gods. Applying Please message me with: 1. What should I call you? 2. Are you 18+? 3. What is your D&D 5e experience? 4. What kind of character are you interested in playing? 5. What do you enjoy most in D&D? 6. Are you comfortable playing in a homebrew world with homebrew gods and lore? 7. Are you comfortable with a biweekly poll-based schedule where the exact day may change? 8. Are you okay with sessions usually being 5+ hours? 9. Are you okay joining a large Discord server for voice, while only needing to interact with the campaign area? 10. Are you okay with some NPC and character tokens being made with AI tools, for the reasons explained above? 11. Is there anything you do not want included in the game? 12. Are you mainly interested in The Dawnstriders Guild, or would you maybe also be interested in the harsher Ships Campaign later?

---SCHEDULING--- Ideally I'd like to run on either Mondays or Saturdays within the time frame of Noon - 6pm. I typically don't like running sessions for longer than 3 hours, however if we are really into it I'm alright with going over that.  ---INTRODUCTION--- Years ago.. you had aspirations of adventure and heroics. You wanted so desperately to escape the monotony of life and board a ship.. to leave your old life behind and learn the stories that ride along the waves. Recently, you took notice to a flyer on the town job board, "Sailors Wanted - Merchant ships needing protection". Reading it ignited a fire in your heart and you immediately joined the ship which you'd later learn was called the [], a group of freelancers and mercenaries offering their strength in return for money. What will you make of this new life? What stories and hidden secrets of the ocean will you uncover? ---Starting level--- 3 ---Twists/Homebrew--- - No healing magic outside of religiously charged magics - Custom mechanics built to emphasize survival - Dwarves are ancient and no longer alive (Not playable) ---House Rules--- Crunchy Crits - Should you crit, roll your damage die and add whatever you roll to the max number on your die. E.I. If your damage die is a D8 and you roll a 4, you deal 12 damage. Subtle Rolls - At any point the DM can request a subtle roll. This is a roll that only the DM sees the result of and is used to mitigate subconscious god-modding. Dungeon Turns - A modified version of the old dungeon turns system Should you, the player, have any suggestions for other house rules.. feel free to let me know. Don't be upset if I decide not to use them though. ---ABOUT ME--- Hey, I'm Griz! I've been playing D&D for about 13 years and have been DMing for about 5. I greatly enjoy running narative focused games and cultivating a space for immersive character development and plot expansion. I try to keep a 75:25 ratio of roleplay:combat, however I will run full combat sessions if the battle is big enough. I use FoundryVTT for all of my games, however for the sake of not hardcore limiting character creation I allow players to play pen & paper as long as the character you are building is run by me and we are in agreeance that they are alright for this setting. I love homebrew, adore storytelling and creating, and will always strive for the best! My Fiance will likely join the game should scheduling work out, however that is not a guarentee. If they do, the player count will be at 6. That is why I have it set to 5. If they do not join, then 5 is a comfortable number as it is so let's go explore! ---TABLE RULES--- - All players must fill out the RPG consent form I will provide at session 0. - Be kind - Be respectful - No discrimination of any kind - No meme characters - No god-modding - No spotlight hogging - No rules lawyers - HAVE FUN!!! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns.. feel free to address them either privately or during that portion of session 0! Payment is not neccessary, however if you wish to donate to help me build my creative library feel free to reach out and I will provide my information. Do not feel pressured to pay. I DO NOT require payment.

Horror Horror
You are dead. Maybe you fell in battle, maybe you were betrayed, or maybe you went out in a flash of foolish glory. Whatever the case, your soul didn't pass on.  Instead, you woke up in the grey, cold expanse of Purgatory alongside six other lost souls. You all want the same thing: a second chance at life. There is only one way out, and the Arbiter of this realm has laid out the terms. To win back your mortality, you must hunt down, defeat, and usurp the Seven Deadly Sins. But there’s a catch. To destroy a Sin, someone must become it. As you slay them, one of you must absorb their mantle, inheriting terrifying cosmic power... and the corrupting curse that comes with it. Only when all seven Sins are claimed will the gateway to the living world open. 🏛️ Campaign Details System: D&D 5e (with heavy homebrew mechanics for the Sins) Platform: [e.g., Roll20 / Foundry VTT / Theater of the Mind] Voice/Comms: [e.g., Discord (Mic required)] Schedule: [e.g., Weekly on Fridays at 7 PM EST] Tone: Dark fantasy, roleplay-heavy, psychological, high-stakes. 👁️ What I’m Looking For Because this campaign relies on exactly seven players, I am looking for a very specific, dedicated group. Roleplayers First: This game is driven by your characters' backstories, regrets, and how they handle the corrupting influence of the Sins. Team Players: Seven players is a large group. You must be excellent at sharing the spotlight, listening to others, and keeping combat moving efficiently. Maturity: The campaign deals with dark themes (death, human flaws, morality). Respect for safety boundaries and fellow players is mandatory. 📝 How to Apply If you want to fight for your rebirth, please reply or DM me with the following: 1. Name/Pronouns & Age: 2. Your D&D Experience: (Beginners are welcome, but you must be willing to learn quickly!) 3. A Teaser Character Concept: Who were they? How did they die? What is the one reason they are willing to go through hell to change their fate? 4. The Temptation: Out of the Seven Sins (Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, Sloth), which one do you think your character is most vulnerable to inheriting? 5. Your Discord Handle:

Rolicrite "Realms of Chaos"

Homebrew Homebrew
Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
I run a homebrew game set in Exandria. We use Roll20 and Discord (Physical dice encouraged). Will often allow ROC over RAW. SUNDAYS: 11:30AM EST (3-4 player spots available) Continent: Rolicrite (Rohl-uh-kreet)-((Roll A Crit haha)) An ever shifting island continent, of the Shattered Teeth. In the wake of the Gods' fall a century ago, the ancient wards that once concealed the island kingdom of Rolicrite shattered, revealing its shores to the world. For centuries, Rolicrite thrived in isolation, a bastion of untold magic safeguarded by enchantments as old as time. When the barriers between planes were torn asunder and the gods were stripped of their divine might, the island of Rolicrite became a crucible of arcane backlash. Nature itself rebelled. The skies ruptured with fury, birthing an unrelenting tempest that raged for 100 days and 100 nights. Though the initial Hundred Storms faded, the magic of Rolicrite was changed forever. Even now, years later arcane maelstrom storms, remnants of that cataclysmic event return without warning. Towering cyclones of arcane chaos twist across the island, sometimes touching down with devastating effect. Their presence is marked by violent weather, mutating energy fields, and magical surges that cause spells to backfire, mutate, or even rewrite the laws of physics briefly. But the true terror begins once the storm has passed. When the Maelstrom lifts, it leaves behind a dead zone. A scar across the land where the Weave is utterly severed. In these Nullfields, magic simply ceases to exist. Spells fail, enchanted items lie dormant, and even divine miracles fall silent. These zones can last anywhere from a single day to a month, and their shape and size are unpredictable. Creatures caught within a Nullfield at the moment of its creation often find their magical essence drained permanently. Familiars vanish, warlocks lose their patrons’ whispers, and magical creatures may become mundane or even die outright.... Your adventure..... To All Concerned Citizens of Eastgaurd and the surrounding Keeps, It is with great urgency that we inform you of the recent prison break at Shadowspire Penitentiary. The most dangerous criminals, once contained within its walls, now roam free. We implore all residents to remain vigilant, stay indoors after sundown, and report any suspicious activities immediately. The escaped prisoners are armed and highly dangerous. If you encounter any of them, do not engage directly. Instead, alert the nearest guard post or town authority. Your safety is our utmost concern. May the gods watch over us all in these trying times. Sincerely, Eastgaurd Council of Safety TOWN CRIERS WORDS EXTRA! EXTRA! HEED THESE WORDS, CITIZENS!" "Shadowspire Penitentiary — breached! Its black walls shattered in flame and chaos! Dangerous criminals now stalk the roads and rivers! Stay indoors! Lock your doors! Hold your loved ones close!" "Among the escaped: none other than exiled noble Jareth Blackwood, former prison warden turned traitor!" "All able-bodied citizens and bounty hunters are urged to report any sightings to the Warden’s Keep immediately!" The party has spent weeks pursuing Jareth "Shadowblade" Blackwood, the one responsible for the prison break and the current leader of The Cult of the Whispering Veil. Their investigations have carried them across dangerous roads deep into a swamp in search of an ancient temple lost to history. Through recovered journals, interrogations, and hard-earned clues, the party has learned that Jareth intends to perform a powerful ritual during the upcoming Summer Solstice. The ritual's true purpose remains unknown. Jareth has spread his influence and scars wherever he travels. Those he considers useful, capable, or simply unfortunate enough to cross his path are taken. Some willingly, most by force. Once captured, they are fitted with enchanted masks imbued with ancient shadow magic, robbing them of their free will and binding them to the Whispering Veil's cause. What awaits at the temple is still a mystery. Some within the party believe Jareth seeks to summon an ancient entity imprisoned long ago beneath the ruins. Others suspect he plans to sacrifice his followers to ascend beyond mortality himself. Whatever the truth, one thing is clear: The Summer Solstice is fast approaching, and if Jareth is not stopped before the ritual reaches its climax, the consequences may extend far beyond the borders of the swamp.

Carrion Crown late game, then Iron Gods campaign

Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
Homebrew Homebrew
PF1e tends to be combat focused, lots of teamwork, but there's puzzles, riddles, investigation too. I don't charge money, game time is Fridays at 6pm central. I have been GMing weekly since 1997 or so, cut my gaming teeth on AD&D first ed. I go above and beyond for my players. This campaign is Discord video chat, but we could change time/day if the other players are willing and able. Don't worry about the mechanics, they are a lot easier than most believe, I am a good teacher (or so I have been told repeatedly over decades). I do not use a VTT. Tried. So I draw it out on a wet erase board, and if there's few enemies, I don't bother and keep it in my head (I have the IQ to be able to do so, and then some). NO FURRIES! Thought I should mention, no other GM I ever heard of even online has thought to link a campaign to time very consistently. Me, I break it down to years and months, and give the campaign a definite ending and thus a conclusion to the storyline (Vampire the Masquerade). I am THAT relentlessly thorough! Same goes for Pathfinder. Lots of stupid puns and jokes. My campaigns tend to be accidentally lethal, and my NPC's tend to react within the bounds of their Intelligence scores. I poke players into beefing up their defenses in the low levels (in between game sessions), I value intelligence and wisdom in a player. We are gonna finish up the Carrion Crown campaign first (near the end of the last book in the campaign,15th level but with Iron Gods you can pick what you want for the most part, as only a few of the classes have been taken(unchained rogue, gunslinger, cleric, all 3 are female PCS but only one of them is run by a female player, just to show YOU the sex attribute modifiers are actually useful and the new player is thinking up a melee warrior of some kind). You get high attributes (25 point buy), and max starting gold normally, but you gotta make the characters WITH MY DIRECT ASSISTANCE as I make sure they fit with the group and campaigns, plus I give out extra benefits (like gear).  For example, since Carrion Crown has lots of undead, don't do anything that imposes mental conditions, you need really good saving throws. Iron Gods has much the same problem with robots, undead. I have a giant list of races available, some of which are androgynous, others exclusively male, others exclusively female, all of which are official save for 2 (Sylvan elves and Trollans). I instituted sexual dimorphism attribute modifiers to get players running more female characters, right now for example in Iron Gods we will have 3 female characters, but played by players of either biological sex. Subtract 5 points from Strength for female characters, and add 2 points of Constitution, 2 points of Charisma, and 1 point of Wisdom. Please note that Elves, Drow, Gathlain, Ghoran, and Wyrwood are not subject to this ruling, so there is no difference mechanically between male or female characters for them. Interestingly, female characters are mathematically better for Oracles, Clerics (so long as you stay away from melee combat), Sorcerers, Psychics, Mesmerists, Gunslingers, Mediums, basically anyone that doesn’t need a high Strength score, and could use the increased Constitution, Charisma, and a little bit of Wisdom. Yes, there are cheap ways to dramatically increase your carrying limits, I can show you. Skill based classes like the Unchained Rogue and Bard tend to be a mixed result, since a low Strength impacts carrying limits, Climb, Swim, and sometimes Intimidate. Male characters make better warrior types, so Fighters (melee and bows but not crossbows), Paladins, Samurai, Unchained Barbarians, Unchained Monks, Cavaliers, Inquisitors, Rangers tend to be male. Basically it pokes men into running characters that think in a more indirect, feminine way, and women into thinking in a more masculine, direct way by poking them into classes that have the right mindset/tactics. Banned Classes/Races Summoner (and Unchained version), Arcanist, Bloodrager, Brawler, Hunter, Investigator, Shaman, Skald, Slayer, Swashbuckler, Warpriest (this is all of the Advanced Class Guide), Vigilante, Shifter, all mythic paths are banned permanently (broken ruleset). Half-elves, Half-orcs are banned permanently; they are too mechanically similar to humans and don’t make sense genetically. Note that I never allow 3rd party (non Paizo) material (unless I honestly think they are balanced and appropriate but you gotta ask first), and I do not allow material that I don’t have access to personally. I am willing to get new material, however. I am the same way about the Gunslinger (need advanced tech available), Ninja (very culture centric), Samurai (very culture centric), Antipaladin (evil aligned only), Assassin (evil aligned only) classes. For example, we are eventually gonna play Iron Gods, and you get access to alien guns so the Gunslinger is welcome, one player made a brine changeling (all of them are female) example already. I won't run Rise of the Runelords since I just got done with that, ran the whole shebang.  These are the Pathfinder campaigns I have: Rise of the Runelords, Jade Regent, Shattered Star, Return of the Runelords, Reign of Winter, Mummy's Mask, Iron Gods, Curse of the Crimson Throne, Skull & Shackles, Hell's Rebels, Ruins of Azlant, Carrion Crown, Tyrant's Grasp, Strange Aeons. The difficult campaigns I have access to are Council of Thieves (3.5 have to adjust it), Giantslayer (kinda boring starting book 4 for the GM), Goblin adventure series (very short), Hell's Vengeance (evil aligned PCs), Kingmaker (3.5 have to adjust it), Second Darkness (3.5 have to adjust it). Only a few APs exist that I won't run period.  That’s not even counting the dungeon crawl classics adventure modules. Reign of Winter will let you see 18th level since I tacked on a module at the end, Carrion Crown only 15th, all other PF campaigns 17th. We have a Ranger (archer). There's already a Cleric, Bard, Paladin, as well. There's a Wizard. No gestalt classes, nothing outside the list below. Each new campaign, take a different class and role. Only 6 encounters left for Carrion Crown. These are the Pathfinder classes I use: Warriors: Unchained Barbarian, Unchained Monk (very culture centric, but there are rare outside examples), Paladin, Fighter, Ranger (and possibly Gunslinger if I run Iron Gods or Reign of Winter, Samurai if running Jade Regent), Cavalier Skill Monkeys: Bard, Ranger, Unchained Rogue, possibly Ninja if running Jade Regent Divine casters: Druid, Cleric, Oracle, Inquisitor Arcane casters: Sorcerer, Wizard, Witch, Alchemist, Magus Psychics: Kineticist, Medium, Mesmerist, Occultist, Psychic, Spiritualist No politics of any kind: right, left, sexuality, real world religions, excessive feminism/whatever etc not allowed, if you have a need to make a fuss about that, you will be kicked out (all sorts tend to be in my groups). It's perfectly fine to have those views, but don't bring them to the game (this is meant to be fun, social, intellectually challenging). If you have major psych problems that get in the way of simple social interaction (explosive outbursts etc) don't contact me. I eventually ask for telephone number just in case of you not showing up to game and you didn't tell me otherwise. It's for emergency stuff, like if someone gets sick or something and I gotta cancel the game. I do care about my players! And yes, I am meticulous about not calling for funsies.  listen, I have some rules for players. 1 Give me warning 24 hours before the game if you are gonna cancel. I need the time to tell the others and cancel the game if I don't have enough people to play. This is non negotiable! 2 Play well with others. If you are too disruptive, I will boot you after several warnings. 3 Take a different role each new campaign. Try new things! 4 You have to show up to play 75% of the time. If you cancel too many times, there's no point to having you in the group. 5 Sometimes you will be required to take a role you don't really want because the rest of the group made their picks already. If this happens, the next campaign I will make sure you get first pick as to your role/class. 6 If you have to make sacrifices for the group, like blowing feats on item crafting etc, I will try to send good things your way. Teamwork is important.

If you believe you'll find joy and happiness here... turn away now. Because only what you'll find is darkness, despair and fear. Fear of losing your loved ones, fear of losing your friends... fear of losing yourself. The fog chokes the roads, the coulds lock away the sun, and every last bit of humanity got tied and burned at the stake. Many have lost their lives... don't be like one of them... turn away, and never come here again. Greetings! I am Vick, and I am Game Master for this Curse of Strahd Revamped Campaign. This is a modified version of CoS, with additions and improvements to make it feel much more darker, grittier and horrific. I am looking for 5 souls, willing to dive deep into this madness, and perhaps solve why this place is so rotten. Beware: This is a serious and grim campaign. While there will be humour, understand that this campaign will go to deep end to make the story feel tragic, dark and utterly grim. Requirements: Age - 18+ Timezone - GMT/UTC We will be using Discord VC, D&D Beyond and Theatre of a Mind  Now, to apply.. either message me here, or hit me up on Discord @hthnxulfr

[Unique System] Hunter x Hunter TTRPG Playtest

Homebrew Homebrew
Combat focused Combat focused
System: A complex, crunchy custom-made Hunter × Hunter TTRPG (not 5e-based) currently in development. Its goal is to portray the experience of being a Nen user and living in the Hunter × Hunter world as faithfully as possible, both narratively and mechanically. Platform: Discord Availability: I am available most days. Playtesting will consist of one-shots, short campaigns, and in-between-session RP depending on player activity and availability. As development progresses, I'll periodically run new tests whenever major mechanics are updated. Foundation: Everyone knows that the real spectacle of Heaven's Arena begins on the 200th floor, where only those who have overcome the infamous "200th Floor Barrier" may compete. This game follows an unusual generation of fighters who all reach the 200s within the same span of time, drawing the attention of spectators, sponsors, Hunters, recruiters, criminals, and countless others eager to see which rising stars will leave their mark on the tower. About the System: I started this project because I could never find a Hunter × Hunter adaptation that focused on what I actually love about the series. Most attempts reduce it to simplified Nen powers and combat. While combat is important, Hunter × Hunter is also about investigation, deduction, negotiation, manipulation, preparation, risk assessment, and understanding both your allies and your enemies. Even fights are often contests of information where both sides are testing theories, hiding weaknesses, and trying to understand one another before committing to decisive action. The system uses d10 dice pools with Difficulties and Success Thresholds, point-buy character creation, and experience-based progression. Nen is being designed around personal expression, restrictions, conditions, and the influence of a character's convictions and emotions. Most mechanics are intended to reward planning, creativity, and intelligent use of available information. Combat is dangerous, and because of that, every advantage matters. The current focus is testing the fundamentals of direct conflict and seeing what works, what doesn't, and what feels right. If you enjoy dissecting mechanics, discussing design decisions, finding edge cases, and helping shape a system while it's still being built, I'd love to have you. Readers of the later manga arcs are especially welcome, as they've heavily influenced the project's design philosophy. Feel free to respond if any of this sounds interesting!

AMERICA HAS FALLEN. THE WASTES AWAIT. The year is 2024. The world ended in a matter of weeks. First came the undead pouring out of Eastern Europe. Then came Operation PEACE—a brutal, systemic plot by global powers to betray, enslave, and exterminate the world's demi-human population. As the military turned on its own demi-human soldiers, lines folded, and America crumbled. On July 4th, 2023, Washington, D.C. was reduced to rubble. Now, in the zombie-infested marshlands of Atlantasia County, Louisiana, the survivors fight for what's left. Which side will you choose? THE FACTIONS The Peacekeepers: A brutal right-wing military junta claiming to be the true heirs to the U.S. They enforce a regime of hatred, killing or enslaving all demi-humans on sight. The NAA (New American Union): A fragile wartime coalition of rebels, centrists, and anarchists fighting a total war for freedom against the Peacekeepers. Peacekeeper Reformists: A heavily armed splinter group that rejects the bigotry, believing America can only be reborn through the unification of all survivors—by diplomacy or dominion. Aculon: An authoritarian coastal empire that believes the American identity is dead and buried, aiming to build something entirely new. The Raiders: Lawless, selfish bands plundering the wastes. BRUTAL SOULS-LIKE SURVIVAL Actions have permanent consequences here. We feature a high-stakes death mechanic: 1st Death: A freebie. A narrow escape, a heavy scar, and a lesson learned. 2nd Death: PERMADEATH. If you fall again, your character is gone for good. Choose your battles wisely. WHAT WE OFFER Complete Character Freedom: Play as a human survivor or any type of anthro demi-human you can imagine. Fair & Balanced Gameplay: To keep things fair for everyone, demi-human status is purely cosmetic and roleplay-focused—there are no mechanical buffs. Active, Dedicated GMs: Our team is constantly brewing up new enemies, fresh narrative storylines, and custom equipment/loot to discover. Combat to Cozy: Balance brutal zombie survival and political war with deep slice-of-life roleplay. Build up your camp, form bonds, start romances, and find moments of peace amidst the chaos. Text-Based RP & Sessions: A welcoming text-RP community with organized homebrew TTRPG mechanics. MATURE CONTENT WARNING (18+) This is a STRICTLY 18+ SERVER. Because of the dark, gritty nature of the wasteland, our roleplay features heavy, mature themes. This includes violence, gore, dark lore, and erotic subjects/sexual content (ERP). Age-gating/verification may apply upon entry. Interested in surviving the wastes? Jo

I'm looking for a DM who takes requests or is looking to learn by using an existing homebrew world for a group with six players. I have a game world already mostly put together that I used as a DM but would like to take from the player's side in this instance, the game is an amalgam of various existing nerd culture franchises such as Star Wars, Marvel, DC and anime where the characters and lore exist simultaneously and always have which create a unique setting rich with possibilities for the players to adventure and explore. We live in the Pacific Northwest but having an online DM who lives elsewhere but connects online is totally welcome, looking forward to hearing from you and having fun with you soon! Please DM me if you want more details.

Time: We will be playing from 6pm - 9pm (CDT) on Wednesday. Party Size:3-5 Game System: Microlite 4e, A stripped down hack of DND 4e that I wanted to use because it allowed for the use of either official class features and powers or custom made features and powers. Giving players a lot of customization and allows them to create the character of their dreams. Played on: Owlbear Rodeo with Discord for voice About Me: I am a GM of 4 years, mainly running 5e. I am a huge fan of players having the ability to play the character of their dreams. I run high fantasy epic campaigns. I’m also a huge fan of tactical epic combats. I’ve ran a mini 4e adventure for my main group a while back so I am familiar with the basics of 4e and am willing to teach any new people. Campaign Summary: Three larger than life personalities are at war. The General, Xanadonios of the Nikmaa Empire The Sorcerer, Zilik of the Ruby Tower And The Rogue Prince, Hubalt, Ruler of the seas. And they are fighting for control of the freelands. That is where the heroes come in, they come from the freelands and they have a choice of whether they want to support one of these factions or reject them and cement the freedom of their homeland!(This campaign was slightly inspired by Final Fantasy 6) Anybody interested please message me and we’ll do a little interview! And as always Adventure Well!

I'm in need of people to help me bounce ideas and playtest them! All levels of experience are welcomed! Game Features: - Dice Pool & Success ("Hit") Based [1d6 => 4 = 1 Hit] - Trait System. They establish facts and modify rolls by adding or subtracting Hits - Dynamic Action Resolution. Action resolution is divided into 4 Phases or Acts, simulating the Ki-Sho-Ten-Ketsu storytelling frame of asian literature and the paneling of a manga page - Adventure, Battle & Train. The game will be divided in three "play modes" to better simulate the different types of events and activities our heroes have to overcome in the manga, and how they progress and evolve as fighters. Cradle, a wounded world within a crater.

Homebrew Homebrew
Adult Adult
The game takes place in Cradle, a world contained within a vast crater. At its center lies a great abyss, a wound from which the Pall spreads and devours life. Entire regions become uninhabitable in its wake. Strange creatures emerge from corrupted lands, settlements are abandoned, and countless lives are lost trying to understand, contain, or survive its influence. Yet people endure. Kingdoms rise and fall along the crater's walls, expeditions venture into forgotten places, and ordinary individuals find themselves caught in events far greater than themselves. I am planning to run a handful of one-shots set throughout different parts of Cradle. The setting is still growing, and these adventures help bring its regions, cultures, factions, and mysteries to life. Some games may focus on exploration, others on survival, investigation, politics, or straightforward heroics depending on where in the world they take place. These oneshots are also intended to help create a group for a future long-term campaign set in the same world. Think of them as both standalone adventures and an opportunity for us to see whether we enjoy playing together before committing to something larger. Players of all experience levels are welcome. The most important thing is being interested in roleplay, collaboration, and helping tell a good story. If you're interested, send me a DM on Discord: thy.mian Please include a little about yourself, any experience you have with tabletop RPGs, and what made you reply to this post specifically. The first oneshot is being run on friday 18:00 CEST.

Time: Sundays at 6:00 PM EST Platform: Roll20 Starting Level: 5 Players Needed: 2 Campaign Overview The world is locked in a brutal war between the Gods and Titans. Nearly 400 years ago, Zeus challenged Kronos and was betrayed and beheaded. Poseidon and Hades vanished after leading a failed campaign of vengeance. Since then, the Titans have steadily crushed the Gods, forcing many into hiding. Apollo, Artemis, and Ares continue the fight, while many other deities have disappeared, been imprisoned, or abandoned the war entirely. Cities govern themselves, divine power grows unstable, and the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Setting Notes Greek mythology-inspired retelling of the Titanomachy Gods and Titans are real and active in the world Names have power—calling upon a deity may draw their attention Worship is optional Dragonborn do not exist; dragons are considered myths and fairy tales I'm looking for players interested in a story-driven, character-focused campaign with plenty of freedom, exploration, and opportunities to shape the world through their actions. About Me as a DM My Flaws I don't know every rule. I will get rulings wrong sometimes. I am very open to being corrected. Sometimes clues make more sense in my head than they do to players, so don't be afraid to ask questions. I'm not great at doing voices, and I don't expect players to be either. Expectations of Players Table Expectations Communicate. If something is bothering you, come talk to me before it becomes a bigger issue. Participate and engage with the story. Work with the party and with the DM, not against them. Don't be afraid to get creative or weird with your ideas. I want the party to succeed and see the story through. Respect the work everyone puts into the game. Have fun, but take serious moments seriously. Don't treat the campaign like a video game. Avoid metagaming. Don't bring personal conflicts to the table. Stay focused during sessions and avoid unnecessary distractions. Try to stay in character and limit side conversations while we play. Character Expectations I love players who actively help build their character's story. Backstories matter and can influence the campaign. If you come up with new ideas later, I'm happy to work them into the story. Character goals can differ, but the group should still function as a team. Character secrets are encouraged. Whether or not you reveal them is up to you. Have a backup character prepared. Gameplay Rules General Milestone leveling. Everyone gets time in the spotlight. Murderhobo behavior will have consequences. No PvP unless all involved players agree. "It's what my character would do" is not an excuse for being disruptive. Character Creation Roll 4d6 and drop the lowest die. Roll six ability scores. Total score must be at least 72. If not, reroll. House Rules Healing potions can be used as a Bonus Action. Natural 20s on skill checks are not automatic successes. If you use intimidation through direct physical threats, you may use Strength instead of Charisma. Druids and similar concepts may reflavor equipment to fit their character. Encumbrance and normal ammunition are generally ignored unless abused. Magic ammunition must be tracked. Leveling & Death When rolling HP on level-up, you may reroll a 1 once, but must keep the second result. Some encounters, locations, and NPCs may be far beyond your current power level. I won't stop players from making dangerous decisions, but actions have consequences. Roll20 Rules All rolls must be made in Roll20. Do not preroll dice. Only roll when asked. Content Warning This campaign is rated R, not XXX. As with many fantasy settings, topics such as slavery, prejudice, war, and violence exist in the world. I do my best to handle these themes respectfully and without unnecessary graphic detail.

High Lords of Terra (5e/5.5e homebrew) (21+)

Homebrew Homebrew
Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Intro to Terra If you’re coming from Faerûn, think of Terra as a vast continent that used to feel like one big, functioning empire. A tradition of feudalism, with noble "High Lord" houses ruling over their regions. All offering allegiance to a central authority, the most powerful noble house, Arista, and crowned it's leader as the First Lord. So the Legend Goes At the dawn of this world, the Gods watched our people struggle to survive in an unforgiving world - Early settlements decimated by violent storms. Explorers slaughtered by ferocious beasts. To have a chance at survival, these benevolent Gods gifted the lands with powerful spirits. And for the inhabitants, an ability to bond with these spirits. As these lands were conquered, creatures brought over were quickly surpassed by Humans, who found they could tame and even command these spirits. For thousands of years, these settlers fought and struggled to secure as much power for themselves as possible. Anarchy, chaos, and endless bloodshed, with the most vulnerable most at risk. It was not until those wielding the most powerful elemental magic banded together that law and order was able to form. Rather than fighting each other, they spread across the lands in a uniform effort to end the violence. Forming what are now known to be the High Lords of Terra. These High Lords rallied behind the most powerful among them, First Lord of House Arista. For generations, there was peace among the world. Humans across Terra in harmony with one another and their spirit blessings, working together to build great cities, sprawling farmlands, relying on each other for protection. The Civil War starts... Nearly one hundred years ago, tragedy struck when the First Lord passed away, leaving behind two sons with competing claims to the throne. The older son, born of an illegitimate affair with the High Lady of House Kalara, vied for the throne against his younger brother, son to the First Lord's wife. The conflict immediately turned bloody amongst the High Lords. On one side stood the loyalists, supporting House Arista and the rightful heir to the throne as appointed by the King's betrothed. On the other stood the would be usurping traditionalists, who sought to uphold the laws of succession. They rallied behind House Kalara. Now, a century later, the realm remains divided, locked in a never-ending struggle for power and dominance. The loyalist houses of Teos, Retosia, and Pytion stand firm in their support of House Arista, while the traditionalist houses of Sultern, Rhodes, and Toria remain steadfast in their allegiance to House Kalara. As the conflict rages on, the fate of the realm hangs in the balance. One thing is certain - It cannot survive another century of civil war. A Forgotten Evil Stirs... While the realm is torn apart by war, a new shadow rises. Mysterious disappearances reported near the uninhabited forest. Legend of an undisturbed kingdom made of wax in it's center. Ghost stories of an ancient evil laying dormant... now waking up. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello! Looking to stretch myself and finally start a new table with a homebrew I've been putting together for a few years. Looking for players that are in a similar timezone (PST). I'm also a parent, so would be looking for evening sessions after kiddos are asleep (~7pm PST). The world's lore is loosely inspired by Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series, mashed together with Faerun. Familiarity with source material is not required or expected at all. Lore will be provided on this world, and the unique elemental powers ALL characters will have access to... With this world, there will be some restrictions on the Player Characters. All playable characters at this time will be Humans. Most classes are workable, though the system really lends itself to Martials/Half-Casters. I would highly recommend using one of those. I'm not a major Rules Lawyer, big believer in Rule-of-Cool and being adaptable. Improvising and leaning into the roleplay is where the magic happens. There will challenging, purposeful combat but not a meat-grinder style of a campaign. Getting the right dynamic is very important to me, so will definitely be intentional. Would also love some diversity (both in character and out of character) at the table. If this sounds interesting, please reach back out! Would be happy to discuss further and share more info on the lore to make sure it's a good fit. Regardless, best of luck to you on finding the right table. :) Cheers, Windy

_____________ Welcome to Velora  Meridia was once called the jewel of Erindor. Today, it's an alabaster mask — breathtaking from the outside, hollow within, and cracking under the weight of everything it pretends to hold together. The Setting This is an Arcane-punk world where institutions don't just govern — they *suffocate*. The Lumen Order controls what people believe. Heliox Industries controls what people breathe. And beyond the city walls, the Korvan Empire isn't knocking anymore. It's *pushing*. The system was designed to last forever. It won't. The Heart  Beneath the marble and the propaganda lies The Lower District — the part of Meridia the city pretends doesn't exist. It's loud, defiant, and *alive* in ways the powerful can't comprehend. This is where the real war is being fought. Not with armies. With survival. The Game Forget chosen heroes. Forget clean moral victories. Your decisions aren't measured in good and evil — they're measured in *consequences*. You are players in a collapsing system, and being right won't protect you from being crushed. Every faction has a logic. Every alliance has a cost. And the city doesn't care who you're rooting for. While power tears itself apart, something older stirs in the dark — something none of the factions are watching for. Something that makes the politics look small. Technical Details System: D&D 5e (2024 Edition) · Format: Virtual · Recommended Characters: PHB Core Classes & Races · Tone: Political intrigue, industrial sabotage, and cosmic mystery.

Looking for a Dungeon Master!  Our group is currently searching for a DM to lead an online D&D campaign in tandem with our other session.  We’re a group of players in our 20s and 30s, with a mix of newer and moderately experienced players. Many of us got into D&D through podcasts, streams, theorycrafting, and one-shots and are eager to continue growing as roleplayers and adventurers. What we’re looking for: • A patient and friendly DM • Someone who enjoys storytelling, roleplay, and helping newer players learn • Weekly online sessions via Discord • 21+ preferred • Beginner-friendly atmosphere A little about us: • Relaxed, welcoming, and inclusive group • No drama or toxicity • We value collaboration, creativity, and having fun together • Active community outside of D&D with gaming, anime, art, and general hangouts We’re looking for someone interested in building a long-term campaign and becoming part of a community, not just running a game. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, send me a message and let’s chat!

The Mistra Tournament

Homebrew Homebrew
Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
I am a new DM starting out with my first campaign. I value all three pillars of D&D (Combat, Rollplay, and Exploration), where each part complements the others, with emphasis on grounded sincerity during roleplay. But I am a fan of the rule of cool. Additionally, I'm running some homebrew rules for my campaign that are a bit in-depth. Please check them out before deciding to join:  https://www.worldanvil.com/w/jordaheim-rpathos/a/rpathos-d26d-changes-article    Story: Mistra's Isle. The crossroad of the four shores. A former pirate haven turned thriving trade port and elven colony, extending the reach of an old alliance across the known world. Situated along the Gilded Road, it is both a reprieve for weary travelers and a volatile den for opportunists. Every race, every creed, and every coin eventually passes through its harbours. Every four years, the island hosts the Grand Mistra Tournament. Warriors from across the world answer the call — soldiers, sellswords, wanderers, and the quietly desperate — all flocking to compete for fame, fortune, and glory. You are one of them. Whatever your reason for being here, success hinges on more than steel and might. The arena is only part of it. Teams fight on a schedule, but the bold can challenge anyone, anytime — provided they have the nerve and the plan to come out the victor. Between fights, the city is yours. Scout your competition, court your allies, spend your winnings well, and rest when you can. The tournament rewards the prepared as much as the strong. So. Will you test your mettle in the arena? Immerse yourself in the power struggles simmering beneath the city's polished surface? Or is there some grander ambition driving you here that has nothing to do with the prize?

Goodyear 5e homebrew campaign forming — looking for 3–5 players Hi! My wife and I recently moved to Goodyear and are looking to start an in-person D&D 5e campaign. I’m a longtime/forever DM by preference and have run multiple multi-year campaigns. System: D&D 5e ('24 preferred, '14 fine) Schedule: Weekly Saturdays or Sundays, likely late morning/early afternoon Session length: Around 6 hours Location: Goodyear, hosted at our house after we’ve had a chance to meet/chat first Style: Emphasis on roleplay and challenging encounters in a homebrew campaign. We’re looking for players who are willing to speak in character during in-game social interactions. You don’t need a character voice, just make sure we can tell in character vs out of character. We’re especially hoping to find at least one more woman for the group so my wife isn’t the only woman at the table. If that sounds interesting, message me on Discord and we can talk campaign style, expectations, and fit.

@TCB Games & Collectibles. 656 Eastern Blvd Clarksville, IN Party of 4-6 1st level characters; point buy for stats June 13th 1pm. DnD 5e 18+ DM: @wonkav8 (Brian) $5 entry fee The group is venturing home to Vallaki after escorting musicians back to Skald in Kartakass after their performance at the season festival. A local there advised the party take a shortcut through the ancient Red Tear forest to avoid going around the Lake of Red Tears, some nonsense about spooks and nasties and people going missing in the ruins east of the lake. Upon heeding this well intentioned warning, they now find themselves lost in unfamiliar woods and darkness is setting in. Since choosing the less sinister of two trails, the party has felt uneasy as if something has been following them. The farther along the chosen trail they go, the narrower and less travelled the trail looks. Finally, a clearing opens where a dimly lit moss covered cabin sits at the far side of the clearing. A frail looking elderly woman sits on a rocking chair next to a hulking male sitting on a huge stump. The woman stops rocking and waves. In the distance, a howl unlike anything you have ever heard echoes through the forest. The last glimpse of daylight is barely providing any light through the forest canopy. The wave becomes a frantic gesture towards the cabin. Sign up in store at TCB or on our Dscord https://discord.gg/BkZG8g9aC6

Very open to new players and helping them through the process so long as they are ready to learn. Really I just want to have good character work and a collaborative story!  Looking to start a Starfinder game in a homebrew universe in the next few weeks, possibly up to a couple of months before starting. I will ask for a decent amount of player input with some of the worldbuilding, as I have quite broad strokes (which luckily means you can really bring a scififantasy character to life!) but not too much detail, and I really thrive with direction. The campaign will focus on a) destroying/escaping evil dictator and b) personal backstory sandbox stuff. And a little time magic/ancient times/eldritch horrors beyond imagination. We have a decent pool of players already but I'm looking for some fresh blood to trial with the group and keep some freshness to our tabletop group (also possibly to try some Mythic Bastionlands with in the meantime while I am prepping the campaign!!) Please find the lore I've worked on so far below, it should be enough to let you know about possible character motivations and backgrounds, though note it does not span all locations nor all possible races. I want people to have fun with alien ideas really, nothing too "silly" as I want a serious, character driven game, however all kinds of aliens that could be relatively 'serious' are fine. Also all kinds of fantasy creatures, though I have added some of my own flavour to them!  https://app.kanka.io/w/the-periphery Will require using foundry (a VTT, browser based) and discord with decent mic :) Lastly, this is the message I have relayed about the intentions of the game so far to my existing players: > Characters of the initial Periphery campaign will be dual-classed, ancestry paragon, free archetype PF2e+SF2e player characters of second level. They will achieve greater heights through milestone levelling.   > In terms of story, player characters (PCs) will be folk who were born on or ended up on the planet Ethos. This is a dead end for most people in the Periphery, however they came across subtle messaging or an outright invitation by a member of the Dawn's Aegis to join on Captain Seraphim 's maiden journey on a secret spaceflight route that might finally carve a way out of the Canorous system and into a safer, more free star system where they are free to plot Kinndra Baudelaire's demise. PCs will need a reason to see this to completion, as the campaign will be player driven in the story. Without proper reasons to do things and go places, nothing will happen and the game will fizzle. If you do not have a good reason, you will be asked to rewrite your motivations until you do. > Players are expected to understand these terms prior to session 1, hence the wiki where many things can be clicked. I encourage clicking around to see if there is either additional information or a link to something else for your understanding. Please ask any questions, as questions you have, others likely do as well.

It’s going to be an open-world, island-hopping sandbox campaign set in a homebrew world. The vibe is heavily focused on exploration, player freedom, and discovering weird uncharted places, so where you sail and what you choose to pursue is entirely up to the party. Logistics: Schedule: We are doing a guaranteed session every Friday. The exact time is still flexible based on what works best for the group. If everyone is hooked and our schedules align, I am also totally down to run extra sessions during the week. Platform: We'll be using Discord for voice chat. Maps: I have digital maps fully set up and ready to go for combat and tactical encounters. Whether you're a veteran or relatively new to 5e, you're welcome at the table as long as you're reliable, respectful, and excited to drive your own story. I am in EST time zone If you're interested, just shoot me a DM with your general Friday availability and a quick note about the kind of character you enjoy playing. Let me know if you have any questions!

Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Months ago a shooting star struck deep into the Darkwoods. Hundreds have banded together to brave the dangers of the forest. Some for knowledge, some for thrills, and most for profit. The “star” that fell is no mere rock. It corrupts. It calls. Some claim to have seen it from a distance, and barely escaped from its protectors. There are tales of scouts going mad and turning their weapons on each other upon finding fragments of its shattered tail. Rumors spread like wildfire . . . Is it the soul of some dark power, escaped from their deathless torment? The beginning of the long road to Armageddon? A magical artifact cast to the stars in ancient times to be kept from mortal hands? A new deity, spawned from the woes of the world encased within the stone? This is a story of heroes not chosen by fate, but who see the path to greatness and seize it no matter the cost! Those desperate, curious, or foolish enough to answer the call, and the those who may shape the histories of the world, if their wits stay about them and Lady Fate is pleased. The path ahead will be perilous, and only the wary will survive. Embark if you dare. What to Exepect Heavy roleplay and character-driven storytelling Rules-light, homebrew-friendly gameplay (with no focus on strict mechanics) A living world shaped by player choices Mystery, exploration, and infrequent but dangerous combat. Game Details System: D&D 5e (2014 base, heavily adjusted) Platform: Online (Voice + A Simple VTT) Group Size: 3-6 players Schedule: (7pm to 10pm) Available every day. Traveller 2e ("Mongoose 2e") Exploration Campaign

Homebrew Homebrew
Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Hey everybody, I'm looking for one person to be the fifth for our ongoing weekly Traveller 2e ("Mongoose 2e") game. We are just under 10 sessions into a long campaign. Relevant info below: About me (the GM) My name is Joshua. I have the GM bug bad, and I've been running games for 21 years, so unfortunately the habit is probably terminal. I'm a scientist by trade (chemist/biochemistry) that also writes books on the side (9 manuscripts so far) My DMing style aims to produce emotion, attachment, and spectacle through collaboration, intricate detail, and setup. It's my greatest hope that you become attached to the world and the people in it through dialogue, description, themework, and compelling, open-ended narratives. About the game The game takes place every Saturday at 10 AM EST via voice chat (in English) on Discord using The Forge. You will need to create an account on The Forge, but it is free.  The elevator pitch is: Star Trek with more intrigue and anomalous phenomena, centered around a newly mapped sector of the galaxy. Expect periods of exploration, discovery, and problem-solving in the field, followed by intrigue, negotiation, and possibly combat back at civilization as the crew grapples with what they've found and what others would do with the discoveries made. This is nominally a low-combat game, although there's nothing stopping you from reaching for violence as a tool. Just be prepared for the consequences! Most people in it have played with me for numerous years. We take the game fairly seriously but we still laugh and joke. How to apply and what to expect An ideal addition to the game will be somebody who can bring their full attention and consistently engage authentically and collaboratively with the world and other players. Player excitement and engagement fuel my efforts, and I try to give back that passion. The truly greatest way to enjoy my games is to also come with some degree of literary analysis or appreciation, as I weave literary themes and motifs into the story. This isn't required, but if you've ever wondered if TTRPGs could have deeper meaning, this is a game for you. Applications are via the Google form linked below. All applications get reviewed by the entire current group. As ones we think are good fits come through, I will reach out on Discord to set up interviews. The interviews are currently slated to take place on Saturday, 13 Jun, in the morning hours EST. If there are any questions not covered elsewhere, please feel free to ask in the replies or my DMs. Thanks!
