[Troika!] Enter the "Abstract Painting of TTRPGs"

LGBTQ+ friendly
Roleplay focused
Troika! Is the "Abstract Painting of TTRPGs"  It's Role play heavy and has a, interpretive and collaborative world-building style. (Weekly Sunday 7pm to 10pm latest 11pm) [Relatively long form] System: [Troika!] System details - “A game where players will travel by eldritch portal and non-euclidean labyrinth and golden - sailed barge between the uncountable crystal spheres and Demi-plane strung delicately across the hump-backed sky.” (If that didn't make sense to you, it's because it doesn't. We have to make sense out of it together, and then that's how we create the world of Troika! ) System complexity - Easy System mechanics: The system uses the D6 or 2d6 for practically all roles and has a cool mechanic, where sometimes you need to roll low and sometimes you need to roll high. Practically every type of role you will do can be summarised on a cheat sheet small enough to be part of a character sheet. So if you understand DND or any other more complicated system, you'll be fine with this. System intention: the system allows you to interpret your character in a way that makes it your own. I will then take the feedback from how you created that character and then shape the world to reflect that character then allow you to shape large parts of it. Because of this it is very player input heavy and very role-play heavy. There is also quite a bit of combat that aims to be unique and socially orientated as well as a chaotic and unpredictable magic system that can lead to disastrous and hilarious consequences. The system encourages the creative use of skills in both combat and social encounters turning problems into a combination between a puzzle and a poem. Don't be afraid by the verboseness of some of the descriptions. They're just trying to get you to look up words so you can pick which of the definitions you think applies to the moment, thus making the world more of your creation based on your interpretation. System alterations: I will alter parts about the system to make it slightly less deadly. that includes using optional rules that they present in  the rulebook and some of that includes child proofing some of the crazier rules. Though keep in mind Death is a very normal thing in the game that is expected to happen and in fact encouraged because there isn't too much upward mobility for the backgrounds and it's actively fun to make a new character. Speaking of backgrounds, I will encourage you to randomly roll one but I may allow you to re-roll multiple times if you hate the one you get it first. I'd be thrilled if anyone would want to make their own background. There are explicit rules in the game for making them and as long as you don't make anything broken I'll probably will accept it if it's interesting. In fact they explicitly tell you not to worry about balancing because as long as every background feels fun to play, you'll be right. [you don't really have to read all that.] Game details Player Age: 18 ~~ Platforms: Discord (Voice call, dice rolling and content sharing), Google Docs, Online character sheets, Theatre of the Mind. Players: 3-5 Schedule: Weekly Sunday 7pm to 10pm latest 11pm  [Relatively long form] Genre: Blurs the lines between sci-fi and fantasy And then chops it all up with a knife until it looks like a Picasso painting. Very absurdist. Contains multitudes. Tone: it will likely be light-hearted, it could be deep and emotional. It all depends on what we bring into it.  It will undoubtedly be weird. So weird that because it doesn't stop being weird, and our minds are creative in a way that makes sense of weird things, it won't seem like that all the time. A tonal reference would be Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Crossed with The Little Prince, Dr. Seuss, Adventure time, Monty Python and the quest for the Holy Grail, Stephen universe, And I guess the Lord of the rings…. But as in the Ralph Bakshi adaptation….and most of all very specifically the Ralph Bakshi movie “Wizards”.  What I bring: Editable character sheets online. Plus the Troika rulebook PDF and a bunch of pamphlet modules for the future. Everything I have though is available online. You don't have to join to get it. So you can look at it ahead of time. I would encourage reading the rules. About me: I live in Sydney Australia. I love all different types of TTRPGs, and have been listening to TTRPG podcasts since I was 11. Understandably, because of this it's what I want to do Forever. My favourites our Worlds Beyond Number, Knight's Quest and Dungeons and Daddies, and recently Critical Role c4. Though I know my time zone isn't the best for other countries they are still more than welcome to join. My games are a safe space for all types of people.  Especially people with ADHD, dyslexia or dyspraxia, Indigenous people, and members in or adjacent to the LGBTQIA+ Community. :) Absolutely no bigotry in any form. There are no second chances for harassment. Safety measures: we will use lines and vails at the session zero. you also can private message to me if you wanna walk out at any time. As well as a bunch of other safety methods plus anything you want to add to the group. If we're going to do a session this Sunday, it's going to be character creation / World building / session 0. Next Sunday will the beginning of the game though. DM me if you have any questions or are interested.

Chronicles of Endless - Endless Space x 5e 2024

Homebrew
Roleplay focused
We’re a friendly group looking for either a DM or an extra player (if one of us becomes DM). We’ve played three sessions, covering only the prologue, so it’s easy to jump in. Current party: - Wizard - Cleric - Ranger - Barbarian (potential DM) The campaign uses a homebrew setting inspired by Endless Space 2 (https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/bU-W7F0a3) slightly twicked to work with 2024 rules. The game focuses on a roleplay-heavy balance, with a healthy amount of combat. A new DM would have full creative freedom, as no major plot threads or notes were left behind by the previous DM. Setting overview: The Endless Universe takes place in a galaxy shaped by the fall of the Endless, an ancient civilization destroyed by the Dust Wars. Central to the setting is Dust, a powerful and dangerous substance that can transform rare survivors into Heroes. These Heroes are trained and deployed by the Academy, a neutral organization that influences galactic politics from the shadows. Current status: New recruits (the party) just finished their first mission capturing pirates and were about to start their training montage. Session time will be decided once the final member is found. Echoes of the Witherwild

Newbie friendly
LGBTQ+ friendly
Hello! My name is Evelyn! I am 35 and a new GM looking to run a Witherwild Campaign! I have DMd a few DnD one-shots, and a short DnD Adventure. I have been played in several DnD campaigns and one Vampire The Masquerade camapaign, as well as a Daggerheart one-shot! Overall, I have been playing for just over two years, both in-person and online. I am the type of DM who likes to follow the rules as written the majority of the time, but I will bend or overlook some things if the narrative result would be improved by doing so! To me, the story comes first. I will also forgo looking up rules to preserve the flow of the game, choosing instead to clarify the rule after the session for future reference, unless the outcome would be impactful to the story. I am looking for players who are willing and excited to build a story together. Daggerheart, at its core, is a collaborative story-telling tool and I would like to dive into that as much as possible, working together to tell the best story we can! As I am an inexperienced DM (for now!), I am happy to take both experienced and inexperienced players! Players should be 18+. Campaign Overview Fanewick was once a place of great abundance and peace—dangerous to those unfamiliar with the land, but a cornucopia to those who respected its ways. When Haven invaded the wilds and forced the land into eternal spring, a dangerous bloom known as The Witherwild took hold and now threatens the lives of all who live there. In a Witherwild campaign, you willl play unlikely heroes from humble beginnings who are reckoning with their newfound duty to save Fanewicks people from dangerous corruption. Tone and Feel Adventurous, Dynamic, Epic, Heroic, Thrilling, Uncanny, Whimsical Themes Cultural Clash, Ends Justify Means, Grief, People vs. Nature, Transformation and Change, Survival Touchstones Princess Mononoke, The Legend of Zelda, The Dark Crystal, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind What to Expect A free adventure. Weekly games @ Sunday 6-10pm GMT starting 8th March. Session 0 and a 0.5 prologue. 10-16 sessions. Character driven story with consequence. A rich world that will grow as we play! Requirements A Discord account with a working microphone. A Demiplane account for character sheets. A roll20 account for gameplay.

Corellons Angels

Homebrew
Hello my potential future players.  I have a 16-20 session self created module for you, should you be interested.  The premise of the game is that your character has been in purgatory for 100s of years because their lives were morally grey, and the gods can’t quite decide where to place your eternal souls.  The game is played mondays at 6 to 930 pm central us time. The game is very encounter based, and each chapter is a dungeon of some type.  Not all encounters are fights, obviously, some can be roleplay challenges, or skill challenges.  Or even tool challenges.  There is a fair bit of puzzle solving, especially in chapter five.  The encounters are meant to help set the theme and in some cases advance the story. Corellon has decided to recruit you to complete some missions for him,  because direct intervention has been banned by AO.  If you succeed, he will grant you redemption.  The game is broken into five chapters, each which exists independent of the other, and runs from level 4 to level 8.  Details of each mission are the google questionnaire. A little bit about me, I am in my mid 30s, and have been dipping in and out of dnd for about 25 years.  Mostly, but not entirely as a dm.  I am a fairly mellow guy, the only thing that will get under my skin in a hurry is a lack of respect for my and your fellow players' time.  If you do choose to sign up, I expect you to be on time. The game is run with the 2024 rules, any content from 2024 official books is allowed.  If you have your heart set on a class from 2014 books, and it has not been reprinted in 2024, it may be allowed on a case by case basis.  Feats/species/backgrounds all must be 2024. I use foundry vtt for my virtual table top, and I use discord for voice, but do not use video.  It is similar to roll20, but not exactly the same.  If you used roll20 before, you likely will be able to pick it up pretty seamlessly.  If not, I can help you learn the basics quickly I run games not strictly rules as written, but fairly close.  The intent is not to be a dick, but so that players know what their abilities do.  There are no surprise changes after you made your character.  I won’t decide your spell or ability is too strong and nerf it randomly.  Houserules are that each player gets one free heroic inspiration per session.  This one, and only this one, stacks with other inspirations.  Also, if your player gets knocked unconscious four times before long resting, they die. This is very unlikely to happen, and exists to dissuade recklessness to the point of absurdity.  I have run this game before, and the most we got to was two, and that was very unlucky for the player.  And finally, advantages and disadvantages “stack”.  There is no added benefit or penalty for having more, but if you have 2 advantages and one disadvantage, you get advantage, and vice versa.  I do all rolls openly, you know what the monsters roll, and you will see their dcs if they try to cast a spell on you.  Unless something changed with foundry version 13, you should be able to see their bonuses when monsters roll too.  If I tell you to roll a check, you get to know that dc as well.  The turn order will be visible to you as well.  I think the game is more fun when you have the information you need to make informed decisions. If this sounds neat to you, fill out the linked google form.  I encourage you to ask questions where space is provided.  If you are selected, we will have a brief chat before I extend a game invite.  If you are new, you are welcome, but I will have a longer conversation with you to help you build a character that works the way you imagine it does.  The game is run in English, as that's all I speak. https://forms.gle/xNrNBCdYpG7xPfvE9 Oh yes, and the game is of course, free of charge.

Looking for daring planar pirates!

Homebrew
Roleplay focused
Hi there, I am looking for players for a Planescape / Spelljammer inspired game in a homebrew setting, using a super-simple FitD system. Premise: You are a crew of 'Planar Prospectors', daring interdimensional pirates who travel to strange worlds to plunder them for treasure. You fill your ship with the stolen wares of alien peoples and ancient temples, and then return to the city of Dol Kathir, an interplanar metropolis which counts among its citizens humans, elves, demons, fey, elementals, insectoid warriors, servants of long dead Gods, strange monsters and more. The planes hold countless dangers, as does Dol Kathir itself, and you will have to work together and play smart to stay alive. Forge a bond with your crew, set out into the planes, survive many battles and merciless politics, and you may yet make your mark on this city. Campaign Features: [RP and Plot Focused] Your characters are the heart of the story. Create a compelling Prospector, and discover the planes, and the machinations of the city, through their eyes. [Goal-driven] The plot is driven by the desires and actions of the characters. Are you looking to cure yourself of an ancient curse? Prove yourself to your tribe? Discover the home of the Gods? Depose the tyrant king of your home plane? Whatever your goal, you set the agenda. The lightweight system allows you to represent a limitless variety of characters. Use the tools at your disposal and your strategic mind to outwit your enemies and find creative solutions to the problems you face. Mingle with a thousand different races in Dol Kathir, see the sights of countless bizarre planes, and witness the workings of ancient magics. The setting is expansive and bizarre. Countless factions want to take control of the city for their own ends. Forge alliances, make enemies, and shape the future of the city - just be sure not to turn your back on anyone. What we're looking for in a player: We're hoping to find people who really enjoy roleplaying, creating interesting characters, and working with eachother to create a story you'll remember for years to come. Creativity is a big plus. If you like coming up with clever solutions to problems, and are comfortable taking the reigns pursuing your character's goals yourself to drive the story forward, you'll probably have a good time. But ultimately the most important thing is that you're engaged, friendly, and ready to have a great time. If you're interested in joining, please follow this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdItaqUiqjkDB8CJUlPe3O2KPMzjyit7JTvENhzhBDroi4O2w/viewform?usp=publish-editor

Riftbreakers 2E

Homebrew
Combat focused
Looking for 1 player to join 2 other active players.  Riftbreakers 2E is a fantasy roleplaying tabletop game made by Blackoath Entertainment! You take control of a single character and embark on all sorts of adventures, undertaking challenges that will see you traveling the land of Kaethor, which is being besieged by strange magic storms that unleash terrible monsters in their wake through rifts. Think of Solo Leveling , Log Horizon, Sword Art Online, Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash mixed with an MMO card game system. This is an open world sandbox campaign with randomly generated loot, quests/encounters, detailed crafting, dungeons (in the form of Rifts), and meaningful character progression. It is a D100 system where you have to roll equal to or below a threshold. There's also a classless character creation system, with progress built around what you focus on learning and what gear you equip. Want to be a deadly warrior, a cunning thief, or a master of the elements? Or maybe all three?? It’s up to you! As a player in the campaign, you will have access to the PDF (to view only - not downloadable) to get yourself familiar with the system and setting. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// So if you're interested, please see below information of the game! Day: Every other Tuesday (bi-weekly) Time: 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm (EST) Game Type: Heavy RP, Heavy Combat, Heavy Exploration Features: In-game music, art, handouts, and homebrew rules. Gameplay: Roll20 and Discord (Voice). Safety Tools: Lines/Veils Experience: Any TTRPG experience is welcomed! This is a very easy game to learn! Age Group: Must be 18+.

𖤝 Shadows of the High-Sun | A Faerun Mini-Campaign 𖤝 ‘To all who seek glory, and to those whose dreams reach further than the stars, hark! Raise banner and blade, sword and sorcery alike and witness the rebirth of the High-Sun Games!’ Along the northern border of Faerûn’s Sword Coast, a new era dawns for the citizens of Neverwinter as after centuries of waiting, the High-Sun games raises its radiant banner from the ashes, calling Adventurers to glory once again. You are five adventurers, called forth to the promise of glory from the game’s decree. Whether down on your luck, seeking a way out, hoping to make a name as a champion, or striving to renew the glory of Neverwinter evermore, you throw in your lot to face the challenges and perils of the infamous contest. As you and your cohort battle your way through wit, wile, and unsuspecting foes, the only thing standing between you and victory is your own strength of heart, and willingness to overcome any challenge which dare lies before you… 𖤝 System: 5e (2014 Ruleset) 𖤝 Day/Time: Mondays @ 3:00pm CST | Session 0 within next 2 weeks 𖤝 Needed: D&DBeyond account, Discord voice, decent mic, ability to be on time & a good party member 𖤝 Ages: 18+ ONLY!! I don’t DM for minors 𖤝 Tabletop: D&DBeyond maps 𖤝 Starting Level/Campaign Length: 6th Level, Approx. 10 Sessions 𖤝 How to Apply: Send me a DM on Discord @ beelzeblurp, respond to this thread below, or send me a DM here with a quick hello, and the following questions/info answered: Please answer the following if you want to apply! - Your experience w/ DnD. - What you like most about ttrpgs/campaigns. - How do you handle conflict at the table, and what makes a session go from good to great for you? - Are you interested in a longer campaign after the mini-campaign, if you like the group? - Do you have any needs as a player that must be accommodated (I.E., subject matter, table rules, etc.)? - Any questions for me as the DM? In addition, please give me a short pitch for a character story/class/subclass that would fit with a short-term 10-session long mini-campaign! While you can write any context or flavor that you would like, keep in mind that we won’t have the length of a time that a longer campaign will offer to explore tragic backstories, dead spouses, revenge for your honor, or the like! We will have some time for RP and interaction outside of pure combat, so a simpler backstory/ motivation for wanting to participate in this adventure may be more satisfying. Further detail can be hashed out during our group Session 0.

Looking to join Fallout TTRPG Group!!!

Roleplay focused
Newbie friendly
Hi! I was just wondering if there were any Fallout TTRPG groups running online right now! I’m really curious about the game, but no one else I know is interested or free! I’m free any day of the week apart from the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and I usually prefer for games to start about 10:30-11pm GMT at the absolute latest! I love roleplaying, I love creating detailed and characters filled with depth, I already have an idea for one - I’d prefer ppl 18+, myself being 22, and politics do matter to me so being kind and open to POC and Queer ppl is a big must!!! Also absolutely no AI usage, I’m an artist and it just…S u c k s to see its usage becoming more frequent If you’re a DM with a group already and interested in adding another character, lmk! If you’re a DM wanting to run a game but needing to find other players first, that’s okay too! Thank you for your time! If anyone wants to play, just DM me and we can exchange discord info there if we vibe!

The Flow of Jade

Play by post
Roleplay focused
Hello! This is my first time at a platform like this. I'm a new GM looking to run a Mini Six one shot that could turn into a big campaign if we do it well together as a group. I have knowledge of OVA The Anime RPG, a little bit of Fabula Ultima, some 4th Edition Big Eyes Small Mouth, and last but not least D&D 4e.  My purpose is to help my colleague & I create a great community filled with lots of dedicated and understanding players who understand the ins and outs of a great discord, that can be used for GM's who want to be in a good space.  Tone & Feel: Adventurous, Epic, Slice of Life, Conflict & resolutions. Asynchronous. Play By Post. Themes: Anime, Magic, Emotional, Fun, others. One Shot Breakdown Description: Welcome to Nabu Dabi, the poorest province of China. Here, farmers toil seven days a week only to see their crops ruined by witches who roam the land, breaking down every fresh fruit and vegetable. You have yet to unlock the magic within you  powers that will shape your destiny and challenge this dark force. But your journey begins here, and the first choice is yours: will you rise to defend Nabu Dabi, or watch its fields fall to ruin? This is only the beginning; your story flows onward, and greater challenges await beyond these borders. What to Expect Moving Forward ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Free Fun Adventure that is not paid at all. Only your creativity is needed. The game won't be played everyday, Wednesdays & Mondays between the hours of 12 AM through 7 PM Eastern Standard Time, EST-5 works best. Saturdays are flip flops, we can do anytime we wish that works for the group. About let's say... 5-10 Sessions per week on those days.  Character driven story with consequences. The world is filled with lots of good and bad moments that'll help develop the characters and what makes them who they're meant to be.  Requirements A Discord Account & myself and my collegue to interview you to see if your a good fit. That includes being respectful, understanding, and being ok with some AI. Let's be honest, it ain't going away. One shots like this take a lot of time, so if a character sheet isn't found or we gotta improvise, you can work with us to help make that happen to make it easier on both sides. This is a team effort, not a sprint.  Lastly, we accept everyone, just not mean and dispresctful people who wish to cause drama or trouble.  Looking forward to hearing from everyone who seeks us!

Only interact if you know American Sign Language to some extent (so this is kind of restricted to US and Canada users). Even if you're a beginner, you could get some practice in with me!

One-shot(s)s in a new homebrew world!

Homebrew
Roleplay focused
Hi all! It's nice to meet you. Edit: Feel free to send me a message here!  I'm looking for people interested in some one-shots set in a new high-fantasy, homebrew world I'm building for a future long-term campaign. Day and time will be decided by the group itself, but likely around 7pm EST on either a weekday or a weekend. Some things about the current table: - 30's-40's in age - looking for people 30+ ideally - diverse and queer group, both players and PCs - roughly 60/40, roleplay/combat ratio - romance, flirtation and fade-to-black intimacy is always permitted at my table. Everything else will be table veils and lines. - my tables usually have a species list (humans and variants, all elves, genasi, tieflings, changelings always being standard) - No generative AI whatsoever. - Discord for VC, Foundry VTT Not too much solid info here because things are a bit flexible. Basically, you'd be joining a one-shot server (with my other players) and I would put together a group. This form is to make sure you'd be a fit! https://forms.gle/i969V6oCHy3LnrJKA Thanks!

The Unquiet Dead

Roleplay focused
Play by post
System: D&D 5e (2014) Platform: Discord, asynchronous play-by-post using Avrae, with the option to use Tupperbot Number of Players: 5-6 (+ any amount of observers) Starting Level: 1 Timezone: I am in EST and am usually available from 11am to 10pm, with less availability on Mondays due to my job. Different time zones are not a deal breaker as long as you have a decent overlap in my availability. Tone: A mix of adventure, horror, with a dash of humor. Death is absurd and life is short! Age requirement: 21+, with no current plans for allowing ERP. Campaign: This is my first time running DND (though I have previous experience in other systems) and I want to get a feel for running the system and what I'd like to do in my own original campaigns. We will be starting with Adventure Awaits Studio's one shot The Unquiet Dead at level one. I have made some minimal tweaks to the story and characters. If it is successful, we will transition into a full campaign and go from there. While the initial adventure will be short and relatively simple --I’m looking for players who will be able to work together long term and enjoy writing serious and thought-out characters. Bonus points if you really enjoy the roleplay aspect of things as well. If you find yourself drawn to those aspects of DnD, that’s exactly the atmosphere I’m aiming to create! Character Creation: For the purposes of a smooth game, I will keep homebrew to a minimum. I will also ask you to give your character a connection related to the story to give me opportunities to write in interesting narrative hooks. You can apply to the game using the following link: https://forms.gle/FMF3jciGvH2TvTyHA I will keep applications open for as long as it takes to find enough suitable players, but may continue to accept "observers" who merely wish to read the roleplay or would like to join at a later date in the event one of the players falls through.

The king is dead! In the Varisian port city of Korvosa, the death of a monarch leads to chaos, and only the PCs can hope to save the city from its own darkest tendencies. As the rule of the young queen grows more and more draconian, it's up to a band of bold adventurers to stop the spread of tyranny before all of Korvosa is crushed beneath her iron fist. My name is BornAncient. This is my second time running a campaign, first time running Pathfinder 1e. I've played TTRPGs since I was six years old and played Pathfinder the longest at a decade. It is taking me a while to get back into the swing of things so the game is a little more loose on the rules. Looking for: 1 player Time: Fridays at 7 PM CST Level: 2 Age Restriction: 21+ Current Party: Vigilante, Dual Blooded Sorcerer, Shifter LGBTQ Friendly I am not banning any classes. We are running extra race feats if you take the downside or alternate racial feats. I only ask that you don't power game. I am new to this and this is an adventure path. I am learning as I go and am always down for constructive criticism. DM me if interested. I'll ask a series of questions and we will see who is a good fit!

Looking for Players for a high magic medieval game

Homebrew
Roleplay focused
Hello! I am looking for 4-5 players to join a homebrew game using the 2014 and 2024 DnD rules! This will be a heavy roleplay game with combat. I would like to have people who are willing to make a character that will fit in with the world and are willing to have fun as we begin our journey! A little bit about the world: The world is a high fantasy world with powerful magic, unreliable history, and distant gods. The geography, to put it simply, ranges from harsh frozen lands to war torn lands to thriving cities that are far more advanced than other places. Adventurers are common and this is where you will begin!  As hired adventurers investigating simple matters.  Eventually this, of course, will begin to uncover something else. Something that may be lurking just under the surface. The tone of the game is classic dnd fantasy, a bit of mystery, and there is lots to explore, plenty of combat, and roleplay heavy opportunities! Beginners are welcome and as far as how we will be playing, I figured a mix of voice and text would be perfect via discord, avrae, tupperbox, and foundry! If this seems like something you might be interested in feel free to reach out to me on discord or on here! - Nova

Welcome to The Western Frontier, adventurer! You've joined the best of the best here at SINC, CA! Saints of Interplanar Navigational Charters, Chalmers Acolytes. I'll be your Operations Overseer, Mr. Sullivan. We're on the fringe of the Imperium's reach here in Port Chalmers, so while you may be wanted or otherwise watched back home, here I don't care what your crimes were - Only that you do the job you've signed up for. And that job is to explore, document, make connections with the locals, and get into places you probably shouldn't be! Danger? Adventure? Relics, artifacts and ruins?? Strange beasts and plants?? Oh, it's out there, adventurer.. And the longer you wait, the more you miss out on! --------- The Setting: - The Western Frontier is a West Marches style of D&D! - We are largely based in Australia/NZ, and as such we play at times convenient for us! - We have somewhere between 13-16 active players, most have two currently active PC's! - Our experience with this style of D&D and with D&D as a whole varies! - Session scheduling and game direction is driven largely by players! This is an open world sandbox style of game! Game Info: - We use variant rules long/short resting. Short rests are now 8 hours (overnight), long rests take a week of downtime back in The Town, or another fortified position. (Settlements, Inns, camps - places with structures for you to sleep in and an armed guard/watch). - Resources matter! Spell components, ammo, carry weight, and rations are all tracked! Character Creation: - No twilight cleric and no variant humans. All PC's begin with a free feat and a non-combat uncommon item. - We use Discord for voice/text chat, Owlbear Rodeo for battle maps, & D&D Beyond/google sheets for character sheets. - Homebrew must be approved by a GM. Players: - 18+ people only! Firm on this, sorry gang! We range in age from about 19 to the late thirties! - LGBT+ folk expressly welcome! - No bigots, -ias or -isms, thank you! - All experience levels welcome, we're learning to run and play this style of game too, so we don't mind teaching you on the way! - Interested? Might be the game for you? Get in touch! Message me with: - A little about you! *Age, exp with d&d, timezone and typical times/days you'd play at/during (scheduling reasons) - A rough character idea! - Things you think you'd be interested in doing as a player! - Your discord username! - Times and days that'd work for you for a quick call so that we can vibe check each other!

The Lost Pyramid - Masks of Nyarlathotep

Roleplay focused
Horror
About the campaign This scenario is one of the longest in TTRPGs. The story is about travelling the world and investigating a larger conspiracy on a global scale. The focus is roleplaying and investigation, but it will have it's moments of combay, but I don't care much for that, nor does this system itself. As it's classic to CoC, combat is deadly and the threats increase as the story progresses, so be prepared to replace PCs and create new characters and be clever to avoid death or worse, insanity. Story hook for chapter 1:   January 12th, 1921 Explorer Augusts Larkin is planning an expedition to the southern highlands of Peru, where he hopes to identify the site of a pyramid long forgotten by history. Following the discovery of a number of gold artifacts in the region, Larkin believes that he has found evidence that will lead him to their source. He is currently in Lima, planning the expedition, and is recruiting companions and possible backers. To apply DM me or check out this forms: https://forms.gle/1pPSpreLHUdsdfBA8

[DND 5E] [DM LOOKING FOR 5 PLAYERS] Hello everyone Im a DM looking for 5 players for a pirate themed campaign that takes place in a word entirely made out of food. TLDR about the campaign: Plot: You all once knew one some how in some way the five "Greatest" Captains of the Soup on a personal level but when they  all  were defeated by a single Imperial Health Inspector who cited their ships for "excessive barnacles" and "unauthorized use of seasoning." the ships were impounded, and their crews left to join the more stable "community service." With the exception of you five who all have relations to the captains. While drowning your sorrows in a tavern made of a hollowed-chicken, a senile hermit known as The Michelin Man approaches you. He reveals a prophecy: "When the Scions of five fallen forks unite, they shall find the Golden Ladle and stir the world back to flavor." Custom world Setting: The Soup of Creation The world is not an ocean but a literal infinite Giant Bowl of Cosmic Ramen. The Broth: The "sea" is a lukewarm, savory liquid filled with floating oversized vegetables (islands) and massive noodles (trade routes). Magic here is called “spice” or “flavor.” and casters are called chefs and highly regarded as one of the keystones of the soup. The “Spice” lords: The overseeing government of the soup who seek control of the spice of the soup and all who channel its power.

What was Broken can be Reforged

Homebrew
LGBTQ+ friendly
Plot Caltdorf was not reclaimed by anyone. It was destroyed and deliberately left unresolved, and that unresolved state is exactly why it matters. After The Night It Burned, no banners were raised and no borders were redrawn. The Morian Empire chose inaction—no rebuilding, no annexation, no acknowledgment—while the Fey likewise made no formal claim. The village became a rare political anomaly: land with no clear owner, no governing law, and no power willing to accept responsibility for what lies beneath it. That vacuum is why Lord Georgios Sadek wants Caltdorf rebuilt. An unclaimed settlement that survives on its own threatens every existing order. If Caltdorf can stand without Imperial authority or Fey dominion, it proves that sovereignty can be created rather than inherited. Sadek’s investment is not altruism—it is calculated disruption. A successful Caltdorf destabilizes borders, undermines inevitability, and forces every faction to renegotiate what control actually means. Now Caltdorf draws attention precisely because it has none. The Empire circles cautiously, testing influence without commitment. The Fey exert pressure without declaring ownership, letting consequence speak louder than law. Every road laid, every agreement signed, every refusal made becomes a declaration of intent. Caltdorf is a question left unanswered—and this campaign is about whether that question can remain open, or whether someone will finally decide it by force. Background Information The Morian Empire is a sprawling dwarven superpower built on industry, conquest, and a claimed divine mandate. Ruled by the Tyr-König Emperor—both absolute monarch and religious authority—the empire is tightly centralized, with regional Barons enforcing his will across Moria Las. Its strength comes from relentless resource extraction, technological advancement, and a disciplined military bolstered by Warforged and arcane-engineered warfare. On the surface, it is efficient, powerful, and unified; underneath, it is strained and brittle. Each major region exposes a fault line. Zweitevos, once the empire’s noble heartland, has been stripped bare by overlogging and overhunting, leaving abandoned cities as warnings of imperial excess. Huaptbarak functions as the empire’s backbone, supplying food and ore to keep armies marching and forges burning. Dreityn is the most volatile—an innovation hub where magic and industry merge, but also where rebellion simmers and cultural tensions persist, particularly in places like Orlane and the mixed city of Xin-Gong. The empire now stands at a breaking point. Environmental collapse, internal resistance, uneasy multicultural alliances, and growing diplomatic pressure from neighboring powers all threaten its stability. Berod’s fall proves that unchecked ambition has consequences. The Morian Empire still has the power to endure—but only if it adapts. If it doesn’t, its greatest strength may be what finally brings it down.

5e 2024 Homebrew Sequel

Homebrew
Roleplay focused
Hello, everyone! Myself and my DM are looking for 2 players to join our homebrew campaign, based in the setting of the campaign we've just finished, which I was DMing. To sum up the setting, it is a fantasy world in which humans from earth occasionally reincarnate, forming a pact with a spirit animal (Astral Moth, Lunar Monkey etc) and granting them unique powers. The last campaign ended after the party discovered that the pantheon of gods were actually aliens who usurped the primordial gods that granted them safety from the entity which destroyed their home planet. As a result, the church was dismantled and the hostile "gods" were defeated, and the peaceful ones were allowed to remain in this settings version of the Fey Wild. This sequel campaign will take place several hundred years after the events of the first campaign, so don't worry too much that you didn't personally experience what happened before. As mentioned, I created the setting and DMed the last campaign, so I can fill in any gaps for you. We are a roleplay-focused group that values creative storytelling, compelling character arcs, and some goofs here and there where appropriate - we're fans of Not Another D&D Podcast and Dimension 20. so those kind of vibes. We're ideally looking for players who can commit to seeing out this campaign to its end - in return, we'll commit to telling an awesome story together We usually play on Thursdays at 14:45 CT/20:45 GMT for 2.5-3 hours, but we can be flexible around session days :)

Looking for a Group/ A DM

Teens & Kids
Hello!  Me and my friends are currently in search of a DM. We’ve all been playing for a minimum of ~1-3 years so we are all pretty knowledgeable about the rules and how our character sheets work. I would like to preface this by saying that majority (3/4 of us) are minors/ recently turned 18 and would prefer a dm that is not that much older than us. In terms of availability, the only day that we have in common for being off is Saturdays and timeslot that we all have is 7:00-10:00 EST. But as long as it is later in the day on Saturday, we are a bit more flexible so we could speak more about the time. We also prefer to play weekly. For the actual campaign and system we are all okay with DnD both 2014 and 2024 and a few of us are opened to a pathfinder campaign instead! We are all huge story people who like to create a lot of art, boards, and other small things to help immerse our characters into the world, and to us, a character’s backstory and lore is just as important as the character sheet. A 60/40 storytelling/roleplay to combat is the perfect mix for us. We are okay with joining preexisting groups or even campaigns, but we prefer to join af group that has ~5 people. Huge boundaries that we have is that in terms of the actual DM/group, communication is a must. We would rather this not be a transaction only group, we would rather also be friends with our DM and fellow players. Open communication is a must, while it isn’t necessary, matching our energy is preferable. DnD shouldn’t feel like a chore to attend to every week, but rather a fun event that we can all use to wind down. All of us are queer (and two of us are poc) in some manner, so also having a group that is open-minded about that is a non-negotiable. For the actual game, sexual content is not something we are comfortable with. And if fantasy racism is a thing, we prefer if it was toned down and not a constant thing. A less rigid dm style would be appreciated as well. In terms of actual gameplay, our primary source of communication would be through discord. For DnD our character sheets are on DnDbeyond, but we are open to trying out new things. We are all fairly knowledgeable about Roll20 as well. Sorry for the long yap, but small introductions from everyone in the group. My name is Chaos, 17 (18 this year) and genderfluid (any/all) I've been playing dnd for a long time (around 10 yrs +/- a few) I've dmed before, played pathfinder, and 2024/2014 isn't new to me. :^p Heyoo! You can call me Garbage, finally 18, pronouns are any/all. I've been playing DnD for about 2-3 years now? I've played both 2014 and 2024 but I've not gotten the chance with Pathfinders yet. Howdy! I’m K4TN1P_! Most call me Kat! Pronouns are any/all. This is my first year officially playing DnD but I’ve been working with the content for at least 2 years now. Played both pathfinder and DnD! I’m a lil’ bit of a storyteller and like to keep things fun and exciting!! :D Hai Hai! I’m Marlow (the person who wrote this) I’m 16 years old, and I’ve been playing DnD since 2022? Somewhere around that time! I’m a huge fan of anything fun and whimsy and I’m open to both DnD and pathfinder! My pronouns are they/them ^^

Primeval Thule!

Homebrew
Roleplay focused
System: DnD 5e 2014/2024 Platform: Discord + Roll20 Timezone: MST Schedule: Weekly 5pm MST ~4-5 hours Players needed: 4-5 Start date: TBD Age requirement: 18+ LGBTQ+ FRIENDLY! :) “Before the great glaciers covered the northern world for the last time, there was an age of legends now forgotten in the modern world. Cities of barbaric splendor and brooding ruins from prehuman times were scattered across the great isles of the north. This was the land of Thule, savage and spectacular, a world of wonders and terrors. And it lives now only in the darkest depths of prehistory and half-remembered glimmers of myth. Thule is an alternate Earth, a world in which legendary places and creatures once existed and magic, dark and mysterious, held power over young and superstitious humankind. Its civilizations arose in a warm and lush northern world, but were erased from history by the ten-thousand year reign of the vast ice sheets. This is the age of Atlantis and Lemuria, of serpentmen and savage beasts, of star-demons and sorcery. From this mythical time we draw our oldest stories of deadly monsters and bold heroes.” The land of Thule is barbaric, wild, and savage. The jungles are teaming with bloodthirsty predators, the flora and fauna belong to a crueler and more primitive age, and the peoples of the wilderness are just as savage as the beasts whose home they share. The worst are unspeakably vicious and bloodthirsty. Headhunters, cannibals, and degenerate primitives who worship inhuman monsters and eagerly torture or sacrifice any who fall into their hands. Its city states are wicked places, dens of greed, crime, and callousness. Slavery is widespread, and secretive cults dedicated to forbidden gods lurk in the shadows. Thule’s lands are mysterious, and its neighboring islands are largely unexplored. Vast jungles and forbidding mountains and glaciers deter all but the hardiest and most determined travelers, hiding many secrets: Abandoned cities, the strongholds of inhuman powers, foul temples, degenerate tribes, and hidden lands ruled by obscene monstrosities. One should be ready for anything in the wilderness of Thule. Its magic is a secret man was not meant to know. Occult learning is fantastically ancient, predating the rise of humankind. This ancient lore is dangerous in the extreme, and the most likely outcome of taking up arcane studies is a horrible and grisly doom. Priests initiated into the secrets of their god’s magic are rare individuals who belong to secretive and mysterious cabals. The gods are inscrutable, and priests jealously guard access to their power. Magic is such a dark and esoteric field of study, users of magic are rare. Enchanted swords and magical treasures are similarly rare—the great majority of Thuleans have never seen a magic item and would likely fear and shun anyone they knew to possess one. Ancient evils threaten mankind and the reign of humanity is new and fragile; older races such as serpentmen, rakshasas, or genies lurk in many places. Their realms and kingdoms have fallen into ruin, but these ancient creatures dream of reclaiming what was once theirs. They hate and resent humankind. The further back one travels, the more horrible and aberrant the ruling powers of the world become. A handful of Great Old Ones—entities as old as the Earth itself, or even older—lie dormant or imprisoned in the desolate places of the world. Its heroes are freebooters, mercenaries, and opportunists and this is an age of bold, brawling, larger-than-life heroes. Adventurers are defined by their ambitions; they hunger for gold, glory, and power. Great causes or noble crusades are all very well, but most of Thule’s itinerant adventurers are in it to get paid. If all of that sounds interesting and you are also into in a more OSR style game where we try and track resources a bit more carefully and take care to handle things with more tables and random rolls, while keeping things fast paced and pulpy. Then keep on reading! I would like to run through at least the first adventure from the Primeval Thule Campaign Setting by Sasquatch Game Studio. The setting has a quite a bit of flavor in regards to Races, Classes, Equipment, Gods, Magic that we will go over during a session 0 and character creation (there's also a bit of info in the Player Application if you are curious.). I would like 3-5 relatively mature adults, preferably a group, who can meet up periodically at least once a week during afternoons/evenings at about 4pm MST for about 4-5 hours. Ideally with a good mic and a quiet place to play with few distractions. Here https://forms.gle/BikGsD3CawR3oXfA6 is the Player application and I hope to hear from yall. :) For more information here are a few relevant parts of the setting from the book. Hello hello my name is JJ, I'm 21, pronouns are they/them, and this is my first time posting on Reddit so sorry in advance if the formatting is wonky or if I did anything incorrectly. Sessions will be weekly at 5:30 pm MST Fridays. I would also be open to starting at 6pm if that would work better.  I'm looking for 4-6 players of fellow lgbtq+ folk ages 18 - 28. Any experience is welcome! After a long-term campaign coming to an end and a bit of DM burnout, I'm looking to do another campaign to remind myself what it's all about. I have been a dm since July 2021 and have had a campaign going for almost the entirety of those 4 and half years (hence the burnout).   The length of this campaign will be determined by player interest. And basically I want a campaign where the plot is mostly serious but the process and some quest bits are fun. This campaign will have a roleplay and exploration focus (of course a decent bit of combat this is dnd after all).  We will use discord for voice and roll20 for maps. So please make sure you are able to use both of those (at the same time preferably).  Campaign description:  Long ago, so long that most of history has forgotten it, *something* happened that caused the world to restart. The world rebuilt as if nothing happened, no tales, no stories remain just the knowledge that at some time, at some point, something occurred.  This would be something that would never cross the mind of the average person. Only the most devout of researchers think of this 'something' but even then they have almost nothing on this something. But then, during the beginning of the new year where suddenly, as if something was found or maybe something broke free, across the world prophets popped up all saying the same thing: "What was once forgotten shall return, O dear heroes hear my plea-" And after the word plea fell from their lips all prophets immediately passed out on the spot. When asked about it afterwards, they all could not remember the prophecy or fainting. Just a vague feeling of something entering their minds for a brief moment.  And in response to this new prophecy nations have started to steadily build armies, churches are suddenly recruiting more, and where you all come in, more people than ever have turned to adventuring. With the prophecy came dungeons. Popping up from nothing and holding glimpses to the past. Of course anyone with any interest in history is willing to pay a pretty piece for these hints to whatever that 'something' was.  Maybe you're a newfound prophet, maybe you are someone who was researching the past, maybe this was the final push to become an adventurer, maybe you're someone trying to take advantage of the chaos, maybe this has been your plan for a while and the prophecy is just a coincidence. But regardless of all that, join this world to find out secrets from the past and what they mean for the future of the realm. If all the sounds like a good fit for you here is the link to my application form:  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScu6QryFgHDZjgDzmhdReCa7-BbUo26vvjfV-DrzTg6EUVRyw/viewform?usp=header As I do not know how many applicants I will get I cannot give an exact time for when the form will close. But if I think you are a good fit for my campaign, I will probably r each out within a day or so.

While the tensions between the U.G.N. and The Golden Horde heighten, a party of adventurers are sent out to North Silica along the Black Silver River to uncover an ancient artifact that could change the tide of the coming war entirely. Critical Mass: Chain Reaction is a Weird Fiction / Fantasy Adventure campaign set in the homebrew setting of ATYMOS, using the D&D5.5e rules, along with custom homebrew backgrounds, species, and subclasses. The tone of this campaign is light-horror post-apocalyptic fantasy, weird fiction with a lot of geopoliticial set pieces. It will mostly follow average, everyday adventurers from the world trying to navigate it while dealing with people from various factions and nations. LGBTQIA+ characters are expected and normalized in this setting. Be prepared for strange encounters, dealing with cruel monsters, and encountering deadly NPCs and monsters. Not everything in this setting is meant to be fought, especially not by you.    REQUIREMENTS * Ability to play weekly on Wednesday, 5:30PM PST. * Access to a Discord account, and a browser. We will be using FoundryVTT as a virtual tabletop, and Discord to be able to call. * A baseline familiarity with the D&D 2024 Rules EXPECTATIONS * An interest in collaborative storytelling and roleplay * A willingness to work together with the other players and the DM * This is a 70/30 Roleplay campaign, we’ll be doing a lot of roleplaying and combat will be sparse but deadly. The main expectation is to be levelling up slowly, and facing few enemies, spending the majority of your time in roleplay and exploration encounters. To me, Exploration and Roleplay are the same. * Please try to be present for all sessions. Depending on how many players end up in the campaign (I’m looking for 3-4), we won’t have the wiggle room for characters to disappear for sessions at a time.  * I'm planning on having Session 0 on the 28th of January, starting at the regular time. * Show up without a character pre-made. This is a homebrew setting and a very specific group-goal, so I would like to work with you and the other players to create characters that work for this campaign. * While nothing is outright banned, please try and be mindful of the gameplay experience for other players, and yourself. If you try and build a character that can wipe out combat encounters in one turn but has nothing to do outside of combat, and everyone feels its unfun, expect to have a sit-down and discuss possible alternatives. * I will be experimenting with XP Leveling in this campaign, and have active discussions with players about how they feel about it. * If you have any questions about the setting or your character's place in it, I would love to have a 1 on 1 to discussion with you. * This is a given, but please be respectful to the other players. SETTING: The Setting of ATYMOS primaries takes place on the continent of Nostia, a gloomy and sodden land healing from the scars of an ancient war that ended the technological age. Cross-continental nations rise out of the ashes of the old world, and factions fight for control of pre-war resources and current day populations. Most will spend their lives living in small wooden towns, using scraps and whatever they can find to make the most out of their lives. Others are enthralled in geopolitics, working for or with various nations to help achieve larger goals or to make their way in the world. As the monsters of the Age of Heroes have adapted, so too will the citizens have to adapt, to survive in ATYMOS. You are all hired adventurers from the U.G.N., on a mission to retrieve a mysterious artifact from before the war. You will have to track it down, as the U.G.N. only know if it through whispered words and rumors, and deal with anyone else who has caught the sent of this mystery. The setting features all of the Core D&D Playable Species, along with two custom species, the Longdead and the Mechanoid.

Final Fantasy: The Lorekeeper

Homebrew
Newbie friendly
I am running a FFd20 (Based on Pathfinder with a few homebrew rules to make it more 3.5 like) Campaign. The campaign setting is essentially a fusion world of the worlds of FF 10, 9, 7, 6 and FF Tactics Advanced (uses the canon map as opposed to a custom layout). The game takes place in a tweaked version of the game worlds where an outsider being has overtuned the power of and over informed the villains of the MCs actions/locations. This results in the majority of the cast of those games dying. 20 years later, the survivors of those games have unified into a resistance group known as The Farthest Sun (Led by FFX characters as Spira's sun is the furthest from the planet). As a newly trained member of this group you are heading to your graduation when your fellow players meet up in the previously discussed location and something strange occurs. I'm allowing NEARLY any class from the FFD20 website, but some may be race locked or unavailable if they do not fit the setting of the 5 games that this campaign is based around.. I do have an option to allow races/classes from FF14 if one of those interest you... I am seeking 2 player, but I would be open to 3 should heavy interest be shown. Timeframe is flexible (11A MST being the earliest and 8PM being the latest the session could run) and the day is Saturday. Lemme know if interested.

Imagine a world where heroes like Power Rangers existed long ago, but were forced to go into hiding after a specific incident, kinda like The Incredibles. The world has been somewhat calm in the hundreds of years since the incident, and the heroes are now nothing more than legend. Now, centuries later, the powers of old call upon a new generation of heroes as the old threat, the cause of the incident, rears it's head once more to claim a world once thought to be theirs.

The small seaside town of Otari is known for its fresh fish and skilled sailors, but above all, it’s a big logging town, providing valuable wood to the nearby metropolis of Absalom. But for you, Otari is home. You grew up playing on the docks, getting lost in the nearby woods, and hearing the fantastical stories of travelers from faraway lands, tales of terrifying dragons and virtuous knights. Such adventure always seemed so distant- until today. Word has begun to spread around Otari that there's a problem down at the Otari Fishery. Some are saying that some sort of beast is lurking in the basement, feeding on the stores of salted fish. Folks are worried that whatever is eating the fish might get hungry enough to eat the fishers next! You've received a letter from Tamily Tanderveil, the owner of the Fishery. Inside is a desperate plea for help. With the town guard busy protecting the loggers, she needs a few brave souls to venture down into the basement of her warehouse and put an end to the beast that's feasting on her fish! Do you have the courage to face the menace under Otari? A short 2-4 session game of the Pathfinder 2e Beginner Box where you will be introduced to the basic mechanics of Pathfinder 2e. I have run the Box multiple times and am open to help any players learn the system. We will be playing over Discord for Voice and on Foundry for the maps and tokens. Foundry is free for players and has great automatisation for Pathfinder2e. Specific day can be negotiated with the players, but we would usually start playing at around at 7/8pm UTC+1. I accept new players to teach the system and experienced players that just want to play something small and simple, no matter from where on earth as long as you can make it to the session.

Welcome to Rought

Horror
I've been getting a small group of players together In order to try a ttrpg system I've been working on, it's completely playable and I have a rules doc if you would like. The game itself will be classic small town horror think carie meets shadow over innsmouth. Players will be traversing between two different words, one a small town by the name of rought where nothing is truly hidden and everything is kept secret.  The other a strange sprawling city drenched in a permanent night and half sunken below the sands. As previous mentioned this is a homebrew system so you don't need to have played a lot of dnd before, but some knowledge of how a typical ttrpg functions would be necessary. Will be almost entirely rp focused as you are playing regular everyday people who have never truly interacted with the supernatural. (That will change very shortly) So if any of this interests you please pm me and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have before welcoming you to the little town of Rought.  (said like rot, as in rotting)

So before I try to dazzle you with my intro, let's go ahead and say the basics! Weekly  Fridays at 7:40 PM US Central time.  This time is not subject to change   I have roughly 9 years of experience hosting and playing dnd. All are welcome. newbs or veterans.  [How I DM] I describe my style as a democratic dictator. I will do my best to listen and cater to all players, but at the end of the day, I have the final say. I value story over combat, though we will certainly strive for both. But I do like characters that exist in the world and with their fellow adventurers.  For this game my inspirations are Banner Saga Slavic cultures Shintoism Elden ring  And a sprinkle of other influences.  It was twelve years ago when the sun god fell on his patron city of Pelor, turning wheat and marble to ash and ruin. And ever since that fatal day the times have continued to change as the world has lost communication with the great spirits.  As disasters continue across the lands, factions aspire to fill power vacuums, clerics and scholars scramble to find reason. However, many seek to simply get by.  If you have read everything. Message me your favorite character trope to lmk you're interested! [Other info] Characters must be made at sesh zero, not before  If you no call no show multiple times, you'll be dropped.  Hosted on Discord
