The module itself: Is about a group of lv2 adventurers who set off on a quest for one of a few reasons, either to find the Druid Belak and stop the vine blight infestations from killing innocents, to find the gulthias tree which is rumored to grow a life giving fruit that will cure anything that ails you, to stop the goblin hoards harassing townsfolk and merchants, or to simply explore the old dungeon, the sunless citadel and see what riches and mysteries may still lie there. (these all tie together of course)
I will likely start us in forgotten realms, though admittedly I don't know a ton of the lore off the top of my head for any dnd world, but I know I sure as hell ain't making my own. Setting can be discussed, this module is built to run in many worlds and we can always pivot to whatever sounds cool later.
Session time/day and player amount:
I work until 2-3am EST on the regular and would like to start right about then, and the sessions would likely last till 6-7am EST. I can likely make this work for any day of the week, but the start time isn't very flexible.
I would prefer to have no more then 5 players, but if a existing group looking for a DM has 6, then I'll work with that but no more.
A little about me:
I'm a 27 year old trans woman whos been playing ttrpg's for about 9 years, primarily 5e dnd and V5 vampire the masquerade. While I prefer running VtM, its a hard sell for me to play it with a new squad of ppl because of how dark the theming usually is.
I'm pretty good at making DnD combat non repetitive and interesting, but be warned this is for a modified existing module of dnd that doesn't involve a ton of RP. It's designed more with combat and resource management in mind then anything else, but I have done my best to put in RP where I can. I will admit in the past I've struggled with keeping RP consistently good amongst all the fighting, but I'm working on it.
I'm a fairly rules orientated DM, I am willing to flex some things but largely I want to run a successful long term game group before I start modifying rules around dnd. Between 2014 and 2024 I have most of the rules I'd like anyway.
How we'll play:
I'm making a simple discord server to host the game, we will use a group VC there.
Also we will be using Roll20 to run the table top of the game. I'm most familiar with it and know best how that works, and have the module pre set up on the website.
What I want from players and some expectations for me:
I would strongly prefer a LGBT group, or at least largely so, that have existing synergy, and will please just communicate if/when there are issues amongst us.
Any skill level is welcome, but I will try to teach y'all to play efficiently, so no constant long rests after every 2 fights, even if we are only lv2.
Please be prepared for a largely combat orientated game, and chill vibes.
I will gladly help people build characters and have the resources ready to do so.
This is a existing module, so don't expect me to weave your character into the world effectively over the course of one village and a dungeon.
This is a beginners DnD module that I like to run to get vibes on a group. I will absolutely put more work into whatever we do next, but right now I don't want to prep a ton of stuff special for people I don't know only to have it fall flat in a month.
