Beyond the Seer's Gaze
Introduction
You find yourself in a dark and unfamiliar place. You recall your Master’s last words before you entered here alone.
“This is where our destinies diverge, my squire. May the road you find tomorrow be straight and true.”
You swallow down the dry anxiety rising in your throat as you meander blindly forward.
At last, you reach the depths of this Sanctum, your destination. Before you stands the Seer, their form otherworldly and incomprehensible.
You avert your eyes and kneel before the Seer in deference.
The figure reaches down slowly for your blade. You show no resistance, holding your breath as though the mere evidence of your presence were cause for offense.
You feel the unyielding weight of your weapon placed upon your shoulder, precariously close to your neck. You tense.
Then the weapon lifts, crossing to your other shoulder in solemn rite.
The Seer speaks, its voice piercing the silence like a knife through smothering silk.
“Another fledgling Knight Errant is born. I caution you, the world is harsh and cold. I pray you find the strength to see the spring thaw. Find guidance in your vows.
Seek the Myths.
Honor the Seers.
Protect the Realm.”
The Seer returns your weapon to its sheath and offers one final piece of wisdom.
“Follow the half-waning moon for three nights. Your Company awaits you where five roads meet.”
You make your way back to the entrance. Your Master is nowhere to be seen. All you have left is your old steed and your well-worn gear. And so the Realm gains one more wandering knight.
Hey there! My name is bucket. I've had the pleasure of running Mythic Bastionland as a threeshot and fell in love with the system. I've been itching to run a full campaign of the game so here I am! I have experience running a lot of short form games for a myriad of systems, but this will be my first try at something longer. We will be running Fridays at 7:30pm EST.
A bit about the game, you will be playing a company of Knights exploring the world, seeking glory and protecting the realm from the threat of various mythical dangers. It's pretty rules light so if you are unfamiliar it should be pretty easy to pick up, but deceptively has a lot of depth in combat which I've seen fit a lot of different playstyles. What I love about the game as a DM and hopefully you as a player is that it is absolutely oozing with flavour from the player characters to the questlines. There is so much evocative stuff that surely something will grip you.
Ok, so how I run stuff as a DM. I split games roughly 75/25 roleplay and combat. I usually run things theatre of the mind, but will use visual aids for combat if it gets too confusing. A cool feature of this game system is that we get to build a map of the world together. I am really looking forward to players contributing to the world building and establishing lore of the realm we are exploring together. I think my goal as a DM is to collaboratively tell a memorable story with some likeminded people and hopefully have some fun while I'm at it. If this sounds interesting to you, please reach out! Thanks for reading :)
