The Awakening of the Eye Turned Inward

Homebrew

Roleplay focused
The year is 1947. The smoke of the Second World War still lingers in the air, and the world moves forward with a fragile optimism it hasn't yet completely earned. But beneath the surface of the rebuilding cities and returning soldiers, beneath the jazz drifting out of late-night clubs and the rain pooling on cobblestone streets, something.... ancient... is stirring. There are cracks in the world, no -I don't mean the pavement- and through those cracks, things are beginning to bleed through. Power oozing from other dimensions. Flickers of magic in places where magic shouldn't exist. People vanishing without explanation, and others appearing who don't belong. A secret organization has spent decades holding the seams together, but the stitches are coming undone. Somewhere in the shadows, a cult works to finish what the cracks started -to pry open the eye of a sleeping god force a truth among all of humanity, including those who never asked for it. You, however, don't know any of this yet. You're just a person, a regular human, living your life, trying to find your place in the world of Earth. But a letter is coming. And once you open it, the life you knew will be over. What comes next will take you across four worlds, through thousands of years of buried history, and into the heart of a question that no one has ever answered: when something that powerful wakes up, is it even possible to put it back to sleep?
