The Copper Compass

Dungeon Masters Wanted for a Beginner-Friendly D&D Community Hello! We are a beginner-friendly D&D Discord community with over 70 members, originally created to help new players get into D&D without having to pay for anything. The server has grown, but right now our DM-to-player ratio is unbalanced, so we are looking for more people interested in running games. You do not need years of experience to join us as a DM. New Dungeon Masters are welcome, and we can help with planning sessions, Foundry VTT, rules, encounter balancing, maps, character creation, and organising players. We currently support two main types of games: 1. Adventurers’ Guild one-shots Our main shared setting uses an open-table, West Marches-inspired system. The Adventurers’ Guild posts bounties, missions, and one-shot adventures that players can join whenever they are available. DMs can create their own missions within the shared New Lands universe and use existing locations, NPCs, factions, lore, shops, and server systems. Most games use D&D 5e 2024 rules, although 2014 content and reasonable homebrew may also be allowed depending on the DM. This format is ideal for anyone who wants to run occasional sessions without committing to a weekly campaign. 2. Independent homebrew campaigns DMs are also welcome to create their own campaign. You may gather a group of around 4–6 players and receive a dedicated category or channel for your game. Your campaign may take place within our shared universe or use a completely separate setting, story, and ruleset. You remain in control of your campaign’s tone, schedule, rules, allowed content, and playstyle. Our community values patience, creativity, communication, and helping newer players understand the game. You do not need perfect rule knowledge, expensive software, professional maps, or voice-acting experience. You only need an idea and the willingness to run it. Anyone interested can receive the DM role, post session announcements, recruit players, and request a dedicated campaign space. For an invite or more information, message me on Discord: pancone

For new players that never got to play DnD, or they start playing now. Greetings! I am looking for players for beginner/easy sessions in DnD 5e 2024, with more focus on dialogue and roleplay rather than combat and strict rules. We are currently 32 members on the server, all sharing the same world. The project now includes 6 different groups, each following its own tasks and story arcs. Every group plays in the same setting, and their choices influence the world and sometimes even each other’s campaigns. It creates a living, evolving narrative shaped by the players. The server is made for beginners, but we also welcome more experienced players. We focus on learning the basics, improving roleplay, and most importantly, creating a relaxed and enjoyable environment. I’m currently on GMT+2 time zone, and my sessions usually run in the evenings, around 19:00–20:00 until midnight local time. I’m also looking for people who would be interested in DMing, not just playing. If you enjoy guiding others, helping beginners understand the game, and running relaxed, fun sessions, I would love to talk to you. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, feel free to reach out! My Discord: pancone Looking forward to hearing from you 🙂 Message me if interested!

THE LOST ISLAND OF EMERA

Homebrew Homebrew
Playtest Playtest
Greetings! I've started playing DnD and recently i've developed a homebrew campaign. Since it is almost ready (still needs some tweaks and balancing), i would like to get a 2nd opinion on it, maybe a session 0 too for a playtest. GMT+2 You begin as prisoners of the world. Born with mana in a land that fears magic, you were exiled by the inquisitors and shipped to die on a prison island. You never arrive. A sea monster destroys the ship, and you awaken on an uncharted island that doesn’t exist on any map. There are no cities, no laws and no rescue coming. There's only wilderness, ruins, and others who survived in very different ways. The players must scavenge for food and materials, build and upgrade a camp for different bonuses, explore and find different factions on this island. It’s a fantasy survival campaign set in a harsh, isolated world where the players start with very little and must earn everything through exploration, tough choices, and cooperation. The focus is on atmosphere, and storytelling, rather than on fixed outcomes. Players can explore/scavenge dangerous lands, deal with rival factions, build up a camp or settlement over time, and shape how the story evolves through their decisions. Combat exists, as long with some light survival, resource management, and camp expanding mechanics. I was thinking that the campaign adapts to player choices, nothing is predetermined or set in stone story-wise. Dm if interested. English is not my main language, so i apologise for any misspellings.
