Hello adventurers! We are a beginner-friendly D&D Discord community with over 50 members, originally started as a small helping/tutorial server for new players who wanted to get into D&D without having to pay for anything. The server is still very welcoming to beginners, but experienced players are also invited, especially if you enjoy roleplay, storytelling, helping newer players learn the game, or even running your own sessions. At the moment, we have a core group of active members, with people playing or interacting almost daily. We currently run two main types of games: 1. Adventurers Guild / West Marches-inspired one-shots This is our open-table system. I created an Adventurers Guild that posts bounties, missions, and one-shot adventures. Players can join when they are available, without needing to commit to a long campaign from the start. These games mostly use D&D 5e 2024 rules, but 2014 content and homebrew may also be allowed, depending on the DM. 2. Classic homebrew campaigns Other members can also become DMs, post their own campaign ideas, gather 4–6 players, and run their own homebrew campaign in their own channel. This can be in our shared universe or in a completely separate custom setting. My personal DM style is more focused on roleplay, story, atmosphere, and fun character moments rather than strict rules or overly complicated combat. I am very open to helping new players learn and giving people a relaxed space to try D&D. Most of my sessions are usually in the evening, around 19:00–20:00 until 23:00–00:00 GMT+2, but we also have people from different time zones, so other games may happen at different hours depending on the DM and group. We are also open to people interested in becoming Dungeon Masters. Hi! I started playing TTRPGs back in high school and have played a wide range of systems over the years with several different groups. Most of my experience has been in‑person, including a few long‑term campaigns and a handful of shorter arcs. I’ve also stepped into the DM role from time to time to get friends into the hobby. It’s been a few years since I’ve played regularly, and I’m looking to get my feet wet again. I’ve played with groups that were combat‑heavy, RP‑focused, or somewhere in between, and I’m happy to adjust to whatever style your table enjoys. I’m a big fan of co‑op games in general — strategy, teamwork, and a bit of whimsy are my sweet spots. Sometimes you don’t solve the puzzle; sometimes the puzzle solves you. I've been playing tabletop since 3rd edition D&D and I'm at the point in my life where I'd rather find one good group than keep starting over. Looking to be a player for once. I am exhausted from always GMing, and I'm looking for just showing up and playing well with others. Systems I love: SWADE, FATE, and most things that aren't vanilla 5e. I mean 5e is okay, but it's just overdone. Pathfinder 1E has a place in my heart primarily due to nostalgia, but I otherwise enjoy lighter systems. I'm flexible on setting but I light up for urban fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and anything with genuine moral complexity. Dresden Files, weird west, space opera? Yes, please! Availability: Friday or Saturday evenings EST. I'm consistent. If I'm in, I'm in, every session, on time. If not, you'll know long in advance. Last minute cancellations aren't my thing. Heck, cancellations aren't my thing, but I leave that caveat just in case of the rarity. That consideration? I bring that to everything I do. I have an absolute ton of time on my hands now and I'd like to step back into TTRPG's! My current go-to "official" system is Index Card RPG, and I have two homebrew systems in development. Hello, there! I am a veteran player (38-years-old) who switched to D&D 5.5 ever since its release and has played sessions weekly (even multiple times a week). I like exploration and all kinds of discoveries. I enjoy RP the most when it furthers the characters, the campaign's story or both. I like combat especially when it mixes in interesting mechanics and objectives, and when I can be creative in my descriptions and my actions. I love overcoming challenges, whatever form they take, through teamwork and preparation. I like believable character actions, because I value immersion a lot, which is why I generally prefer a serious tone over a silly one. Jokes are more than fine, but I much prefer it when they don't undercut tense and emotional moments. As a player, I gravitate the most towards themes related to morality, knowledge/lore and creativity/art, I take my time to gather information (keeping notes) and strategize, and I'm good-aligned pretty much always. I never come in with a clear idea on what character to play, as I very much enjoy trying to weave species, class, concept and backstory with the campaign's world, letting the latter inspire character creation itself. So I tend to ask some questions after I join a new game, to get a better idea and then decide, with an eye on party composition as well. As a person, I'm a big believer in fairness, I'm as anti-toxicity as it gets, and I'm respectful, inclusive, punctual and communicative.

Hello! I'm Laura. After years of thinking "oh, I'd love to try to play D&D", a few weeks ago I took the plunge and I bought myself the DMG, MM and PHB, and set up my very first campaign. So far, I've DMd 3 sessions and I've loved every second of it. I'm of course still very green, but I really enjoy D&D very much. This game is so addictive! I prefer role playing to combat, even though I really like combat too! I live in Paris, so a schedule that'd be great is one that allows me to play in the evening during the week (available after 19:00 GMT+2 on Thursday's and Fridays). I'm a super dedicated person, so I'll be very regular with my hours. I would love a weekly game, because I prefer to play in smaller time frames, but more regularly. I'm a woman, and would love to play with a respectful and open minded table! Also, a fun fact about me is that what made me finally take the step to buy all the DnD books was the show "Delicious in Dungeon". I've never played dungeons & dragons before, and I'm mainly interested in the revised 2024 version. I am absolutely open to criticism and I eagerly want to learn as much as I can. I have a character that I would just love to flesh out and try my hand with: A bird-person ranger who comes from a poor family that hunted their own food and relied on periodic thievery to get by. Though I would love to use them, I'm open to creating/adapting a character to fit a setting or story. Hiya, I go by Fenris or Fen and am a TTRPG veteran of roundabout 26 years, having started in my early teens and been the forever GM for a number of years, before moving on to become a player. I recently finished a PF2E campaign with an international group and am looking forward to move on to new horizons more set in a bright and exciting future. I am flexible regarding the day, being available for evening session from 18:00 to 18:30 my time onwards during Mondays to Fridays and basically fully flexible when it comes to the weekends. Also let me be very frank because I keep getting messages about this: I AM NOT INTERESTED IN D&D! Playstyle I am a person who both enjoys engaging roleplaying, interactions between the characters and with the world at large. To me a good game has a healthy mix of both and ideally also mixes them. So I want to roll the dice when appropriate, but I'm a bit tired of hearing 'I roll to attack' and a simple 'you hit'. Why not make it 'I bring my sword to bear against the owlbear, parry it's right claw swiping for me while side-stepping and try to cut it across it's leg in retaliation'? This gives the GM much more to play without without having to wrack their brain how to make it an exciting moment for everyone. Same goes for RP: You can try to hide the need to roll something to see, whether you succeed or not, by describing it creatively. I could say 'I want to roll Diplomacy to convince the lizardman warrior, that we come in peace' or I could say 'Putting on an open, peaceful body language, showing he is not armed, <character name> speaks clearly and softly in a diplomatic tone "We mean no harm. Just want to talk."' To me RP and rules are not two separate sides of a medallion - they can work beautifully hand in hand to weave a story within a fair ruleset, that gives everyone equal chances. Hence I also play the character idea and role within the party. I don't min-max, I work to represent the character idea both in RP and in the build. What's the character idea of a stoic and stalwart defender worth, if it isn't backed up by a build optimized towards taking the brunt of the enemies attacks? How can I play a hot-shot pilot, if his confident and assured stance isn't backed up by great skill with piloting and tendancy towards pulling stunts and a few aces up his sleeves? Experience I've started out with one of the more complex games to play 26 years ago: Shadowrun. Very crunchy, figuring out rolls was an effort and more often than not forgoing too complex rules for the rule of cool. From there I moved on to a myriad of systems - both mainstream and not. To name a few: Legend of the Five Rings, King Arthur Pendragon, D&D 5E (2014), Stafinder 1E, Stars Without Number, Warhammer Fantasy, Warhammer 40K FFG (Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader and Only War), Star Wars Edge of the Empire, The Dark Eye (DSA), A Song of Ice and Fire RPG, Pathfinder 2E and a quick dip into Fallout 2d20, as well as maybe some I can't even remember from the get-go right now. I've been on both sides of the table in those years, being both a GM and a player on- and offline. But I moved on from GMing for the most part, as I just don't have the capacity for additional responsibility in my life right now, besides showing up in time and having a good time with some fellow enjoyers of cooperative rules-based storytelling ;) Bio Let's start with the basic facts: 39 years old male (he/him) from Germany. Experience with Tabletops: I have been a fan of tabletops, mainly DND, for a few years now via online groups and podcasts, most notably Critical Role. I am also a small-time fan of groups like McStabber Studios, MagiRPG, Legends of Avantris, and Dice Times. I know how TTRPGs flow and especially how to roleplay, as that is and always has been my favorite aspect of these games! I started my first ever DND campaign a few months ago, and have been enjoying it very much and have been learning about all the mechanics! As for WoD, I understand all the general rules of play having read through the books I have purchased on Demiplane or DriveThruRPG and I feel I have a decent grasp of them. All I am lacking is the actual experience, which I am hoping to soon rectify! What I Have to Offer As A Player: I am the kind of player who takes the game very seriously, in that I am a great note taker, I go deep into roleplaying, I like crafting original and layered backstories for my characters, and I like to see my character develop and evolve as a person (or as a Monster!) throughout the campaign, whether that is mentally, physically, and/or when it comes to their abilities. I am also a very open-minded and friendly person, not to sound immodest. I am very LGBTQ+ Friendly, being a member of that community myself, and so I am the least judgmental person I know! Again, not to sound immodest! I am also very punctual. IF I am able to meet at the appointed time, then I will always be on time or early no matter what! The Kind of Monster I'd Play: My favorite Cainite clans, in no particular order, are as follows: Lasombra, Nosferatu, Cappadocian/Hecata, Tremere, Brujah, Ravnos. These are the clans that I would be most interested in playing. I like how unique they all are and the fact that they each, despite having some similarities, would play completely differently. I like playing characters that are morally grey but that strive to be better in a world of darkness and inherent violence. As for the Fallen I'd play? The Factions I enjoy the most are the Faustian and the Reconciler. The House I enjoy the most are the Slayers, the Angels of Death. The host body would likely be someone on the fringes of society, someone who knew suffering and so attracted one who has similarly despaired. The Fallen would likely be a melancholic one wallowing in darkness and righteous anger, but still wanting to do better and having an insatiable drive to fight against the injustices that have become increasingly common across Creation. What I Am Looking For: I am primarily looking for a World of Darkness Chronicle and group to join! I am hoping for a game with depth and lots of lore, with a Storyteller that is as serious about their Chronicle as I would be for my character! This can be in-person in NYC, or online! The ONLY caveat regarding online play is that I would have to use either Demiplane or Roll20 since that is where I purchased the books that I have listed above! Of course, we can simply use online for chatting and use actual character sheets, etc. Availability: I am not available Thursday and Saturday nights EST as I have other games at those times. My name is Pearl (32, He/Them) I am a west coaster (PST) and typically work nights, but will be available for the game on saturdays I'm a writer, gamer, sometimes GM, and love roleplay and storywriting to death and back. And I sometimes take pictures of animals and nature. I am West coast (pst/-8GMT). I'm in that awkward zone between beginner and intermediate experience when it comes to DND 5e/5.5e. I'm fairly experienced with Modiphious' 2d20 system.

I go by Elf. Any/All pronouns.I started playing tabletops back in 2017. First 5E, then Pathfinder, and now Daggerheart is my go-to game. I've been playing since the beta in 2024, I enjoy how the system encourages creativity from the GM and the players, how you can add "flavor" to the games spells, weapons, etc. I could go on and on about why I love this game, but I have a profile to write. I'm also a roleplayer and a writer. I often roleplay with friends over Discord, and have wrote a few stories, though most of them are sitting on my desktop. I like coming up with fun characters. Some take inspiration from The Elder Scrolls or RWBY or ZZZ. One of my recent characters was inspired by Fate. Never watched, but I liked the design/concept. I tend to get ideas that sometimes explode out of me. Next thing you know, I'm openining up a character sheet. So hours. A weekly game would be ideal. I'm kind of a night owl. My time zone is EST. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, I'm available for games from 6 PM to 6 AM the next day. Wednesdays, I'm available from 1 AM (technically Thursday, but you get the idea) to 6 AM. Friday and Saturday, I'm available from 8 PM to 6 AM. Sunday is usually my busy day. Sometimes this changes, but not enough to where I can commit to a Sunday game. For late night games, I can always get some caffeine in me to keep myself awake. I've done so before. It shouldn't be a problem if we're only playing once or twice a week. One last thing to mention: I sometimes use a voice changer for roleplaying purposes to sound a certain way when speaking as my character. As mentioned above, I love roleplaying and sometimes get really into it. This is comepletly optional, however, and I don't need it if it'll be too distracting. I can turn it on and off with a press of a key. So that's it. I look forward to hearing from you.

Some past religious trauma. I'm looking for a long term camaign, around weekly. Style: I'm willing to play in all sorts of themed games, homebrew or not, but I tend to enjoy high magic campaigns and high tech campaigns a bit less. I enjoy the exploring a lot, (even if dnd doesn't have many rules for it), especially other planes, but the material realm is totally fine to spend an entire campaign in. My favorite character I haven't had the opportunity to play more than a session of is a neutral good, male Kitsune Bard who enjoys supporting the party and growing his collection of stories, written, sung, or told. I'm used to low level campaigns (< lvl 6), but have no qualms with high level campaigns. Experience: I have experience DMing and I have experience as a player. Not too much for either, but a few years experience DMing for a group of friends/family ranging from 8 players to 3. That's why I've put myself at Intermediate experience, not too much experience as a player for more than a session or two, though I have gone beyond that point. Pillars Balance: I do enjoy combat, but I also very much enjoy exploration and roleplay, both with other players and with NPCs. I like teasing and being the party face who isn't entirely always proper and moral, but has good intentions overall. I try very hard to share the spotlight and pull in fellow players. I'm totally fine if a session goes without combat, but if we go two sessions without rolling initiative, I might be a bit concerned. As previously mentioned, I like exploring, but as long as you introduce cool locations we visit, that's good for me. I like difficult and engaging combat, ones that make us strategize, maybe prepare for beforehand, combats that make us move around the field more, secure objectives, or maybe play unconventionally such as controlling or wielding things we normally wouldn't.

I’ve run multiple campaigns over the past few years, listened to several actual-play campaigns, and played in a few games myself, so I have a decent amount of experience. I’m also completely fine with games where characters can die if it makes sense for the story or situation. I don't often play as a player but when I do, I create a fully living and breathing character that will fit in the group and gameplay that we're about to play. My characters want to go out on adventures, they have rough edges and light backstories so they can either evolve within the game or just be the reason of why I go out to adventure. For me it's about to create memorable experience for everyone and I include all forms of (silly) voices for all tones of play. From goofy to full on serious moments. Be aware that I actually hate D&D since the fourth edition at it is to this day and for all the future ahead completely unbalanced, extremely broken and with an anti conumser corporation behind it that openly admits they want to do the same they did with Magic the Gathering: Bringing in 'Universe Beyond' with the goal to get more money - not to please fans - to get money. If you support this, you really should avoid me as player and gamemaster. I am just sick of the D&D universe or better: WotC destroying another branch with anti-consumer behaviour and fans defending them as if they're the best company out there. PF2e alternate rules I play with: - Proficiency without level bonus (I want to have all characters be viable from early to end game. No bloated numbers.) - Ancestry Paragon (I want to refine my ancestry.) - Gradual Ability Boosts (Smoother boosts) - Automatic Bonus Progression (Be honest: You give out runes anyway. Forgo the "You find this awesome weapon" and let characters advance with their weaponry on a more natural line) - Free Archetype (Not a must but it truly rounds out any character idea one might have. Level * 1,5 = Actual Level. Be aware of that.) - No house rules. PF2e is balanced enough with the alternate rules already. We're not playing D&D.

Hello! I'm Efim, quite a player of Shadowrun and (to lesser extent) Cyberpunk 2020. Have some experience with Exalted and Starfinder, and tried to GM PF1e (which died due to schedules). Thanks to being deep into CP2020 and SR, I'm quite good with both RP part of the things and the combat part. I prefer live text games, but voice games and long-term PBPs are also fine (assuming they don't die within a week). While in games, I prefer less linear, more sandoxy types of games where we can do smart things with what we're given, make up some indirect ideas and execute those to solve whatever issues there are. It applies to when combat starts as well - as fun it is to throw fireballs, it gets a bit old after you do it 20, 30, 50, however many times, so some smart approaches is what I try to do whenever possible. Thanks to my pretty ezpz work schedule, I'm more or less capable to play text games at any time of the day except when I'm asleep (midnight-7 AM in GMT+3 zone), and voice games after ~4.30 PM. Can stay for night sessions too, but prefer not to if possible. I also prefer for sessions to not be more than 6 hours if possible, because it takes quite a bit of a strain on attention and not falling asleep, heh.
