Description

[5e] [Online] Dark Fantasy Campaign: Looking for Iorveth (The Witcher 2) The Pitch: This is a heavy-roleplay, narrative-focused campaign featuring a curated cast of iconic dark fantasy characters from the Dragon Age and The Witcher universes. We are seeking a highly reliable, vocal, and passionate roleplayer to step into the boots of Iorveth from The Witcher 2. Schedule: Weekly on Saturdays, 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM CET. Strict attendance required. Because this is a long-term campaign, reliability is our absolute highest priority. Voice: Jitsi (Working microphone and quiet environment required). Platform: Owlbear Rodeo (only free account required, very easy to learn). Starting Level: 3 (no multiclassing) Player requirements: Age 21+, LGBTQIA+ friendly & willing to roleplay gay romance. The story so far: Torn away from your own world by an unnatural, suffocating fog, you have been cast into a Dread Domain within the Shadowfell—a grim realm where something malevolent steals the souls of the dead. Your arrival was catastrophic. A storm sank your vessel. Only you survived, pulled from the dark waters by Captain Rhodry and the crew of a privateer vessel aligned with the Domain's missing Dread Lord. On board, joining forces with a crew of similarly stranded survivors, including a Grey Warden named Carver Hawke and a lyrium-scarred elf named Fenris, you find yourself bound for Tartur Bay. To break the curse draining your own life force, you must unravel the mystery of the stolen souls, and survive a realm where death is only the beginning of your problems. Tone & Party Dynamics The tone of this campaign is dark, gritty, and deeply psychological. We want proactive, vocal roleplayers who are enthusiastic about driving the plot forward and exploring emotional vulnerability. Romance This is a game focusing on gay characters. An enthusiasm for exploring slow-burn romance, deep emotional bonds, and intense romantic tension is a core requirement of this campaign. No NSFW content is roleplayed at the table, but you must be comfortable roleplaying romantic gestures like kissing or embracing. A major pillar of the story revolves around the party's complex, shifting relationship with the Domain’s Dread Lord. If you prefer to deflect romance with jokes or are uncomfortable with intimacy, this is not the table for you. What We Are Looking For in Our Iorveth Iorveth must be played true to his lore: a jaded, sharp-tongued elven rebel leader hardened by centuries of guerrilla warfare. He is fiercely proud, bold, dangerous, and steadfast in his loyalties. Beneath his ruthless, cynical exterior lies a capacity for absolute, unyielding devotion to the right person. He handles intimacy with an intense, guarded gravity—he is a man who loves fiercely but carries the deep, silent trauma of past betrayal. How to apply: If you are interested, please send me a direct message with the following information: 1] Your Age: (Must be 21+) 2] Your Class Choice for Iorveth: (Any martial class apart from Monk. If you'd like him to fling spells besides showcasing his mastery with a bow and saber, Warlock is a great choice. Subclasses from PHB, Xanathar's, Tasha's, or Van Richten's are allowed. No multiclassing). 3] His Dream & Greatest Fear: What drives him, and what keeps him up at night? 4] The Shadowfell Connection: Are you open to Iorveth having a deep, narrative bond with an otherworldly Patron? (This is a unique setting mechanic open to any class, tied to a powerful, morally neutral entity from the Shadowfell who is invested in the mystery of the stolen souls). 5] The Saturday Scenario: It is Saturday morning. An old friend unexpectedly calls and invites you to a party that overlaps with game time. How do you handle this? I am a DM tailoring a highly specific, high-effort narrative. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a brief voice interview on Jitsi to ensure our playstyles mesh.
